thanks , last week I got stuck with the Mainline Github tutorial, I suspected a specific sv08 firmware thing, so now with your great Tutorial I finally will try it again
You got a good voice and presence Rick, hope your channel grows.... it deserves to just based on the contributions to the SV08 community. Got my sub, Goodluck.
Rick, I've never used Klipper and have just received my SV08 I've decided that before ever lighting it up, I'll switch to Mainline. A reason? I don't have one but I like the fact that this install will be 100% clean. Just me I guess.? If I get stuck, "I'll be baaack". TY for your outstanding efforts.
Im at the step @53.50 minutes, dont see the intended error screen, I do see error "Include file '/home/biqu/printer_data/config/moonraker_obico_macros.cfg' does not exist Once the underlying issue is corrected, use the "RESTART" command to reload the config and restart the host software. Printer is halted" I did go to backup and copied the file and used WINscp to put it in correct location . but still showing error
Need help!! got this error "Klipper reports: ERROR Section 'gcode_shell_command get_ip' is not a valid config section Once the underlying issue is corrected, use the "RESTART" command to reload the config and restart the host software. Printer is halted"
Hello, thanks for this video. Why not put a link to the mainline github in the description of the video ? Because your Google repository will not have the latest update of the guide, configuration files or script.
Because when I used the official guide I found errors and could not finish the upgrade properly. The link is in the description. So I guess mine is the latest and far more thorough if you use my video with it. They match perfectly and you get to listen to me.
@@rickkollinsas a contributor to the mainline github and the author of the auto update script, it will be hard to me to listen to you explained how work things that I wrote (Also not to mention that most of the screenshots you use were taken on my computer). If you find things that can be improved on the github guide, why not contribute to make it better with pull request as about a dozen of peoples have done, instead of doing things on your own Google drive?
@@haagelx This does seem like what he should have done, and it wouldn't have prevented him from making this video, just also helped the project where he got 95% of his content.
@@MON5TERMATT I'm curious to see what actually has changed, glancing over it it doesn't seem to have any obvious differences.. really don't see why this vid went with the GDrive and not a contribution.
Followed the github and then tried this. Either way I'm having Internal error on command:"Z_OFFSET_CALIBRATION" , Internal error on command:"QUAD_GANTRY_LEVEL", Internal error on command:"START_PRINT" Everything is 'on' and seems to be working until I want to do anything. Then it shuts down either the first or second time the nozzle touches the thing in the back.
CanBus reduces the number of wires to the tool head from a dozen or so to 4, reducing the mass the tool head has to swing around when printing, fewer wires to break over time.
@@ziruszirus1654 You are right. The SV08 uses usb for communication. 3-pin USB (D+,D-, GND, no 5V) and 24V (GND, 24V). This has some advantages over CAN: You can simply use an USB-hub for adding multiple Toolboards and a bigger or extra PSU to get multiple tools connected. A CAN bus would actually need more wires, as it is a linear bus with two terminated ends. So for two tools and the mainboard the two tools are terminated and the mainboard is in the middle of the bus, but with more than two tools you need CAN to go to one tool and back again - so actually you need more wires for any toolnr. bigger than 3.
Someone would make a ton of money to just do a paid service to do all of this. I just want a Stealthburner with a reliable probe on my SV08 so I can have Revo, the toolhead look, and Mainline Klipper. Offer a core charge or to send in your own parts to be modded.
@@rickkollins want a second income? I would be your first customer. Hardware is easy for me, its the software that get me. My SV08 is nice but its been an itch that needs scratching.
I’m not sure why there isn’t an online configure for klipper and streamline it but it might be being gatekept on purpose it’s the only thing that makes sense. It would cut down on all the companies creating dirty installs.
Thanks for the video.
To be fair though, Rappetor is the og author of the mainline branch. I did help create the documentation though.

Glad I could help
ordered my emmc one week ago and this will help me a lot. thank you for this great video 👍
Great well documented and informative video, I will be using this when I get my printer (in a week) and the parts I need to do the upgrade.
Thank you! Can't wait to see the manual / video of the can bus conversion (and also the BTT EDDY CAN version)!

Thank you very much! I appreciate the kind words. Now, on to the next one...
admittedly havent watched it yet, but this is the guide we need, thanks m8!

I'm going to try to see if I can pull the document and make some changes through a pull request later on.

I am interested about SV08 so I am looking your tutorial but what are the benefits of changing USB communication at toolhead to CanBus?
CanBus reduces the number of wires to the tool head from a dozen or so to 4, reducing the mass the tool head has to swing around when printing, fewer wires to break over time.
@@JeffRho thought new printer change from CanBus to USB (LDO boards for Voron)…. More stable and faster.

Do you need to change tool head
While trying to backup with winscp, the username and password are not working . what are the default passwords.

yes, teaching tech mentions something about this and does something along these lines with his part 3 video
Yes, it works just fine. The 8gb emmc did not function, as mentioned in this howto
