Ryan -- your videos have become so polished and professional, this one could easily appear on the Discovery Network ... it's THAT good! I especially enjoy your voice-overs ... full of information and extremely descriptive. I look forward to enjoying each new adventure.
The basic rule of fishing is "If they ain't biting, they ain't biting" and it doesn't really matter what you throw to them, or how. Like trying to get a two year-old to eat dinner when they don't want it. Still looks like it was a pretty decent day, though.
Definitely some truth to that! It felt like we fished insanely hard for only a handful of bites, but looking at the footage I guess it wasn’t too bad 🤙🏼🍻
Wow this is amazingly new to me. I was on UDP twice to Okinawa and had no idea there were largemouth bass in Japan. Freakin awesome video brother. Semper Fi.
Really enjoy your videos. Sad to say a I’m envious though, it’s a dream to fish in Japan. Seems like the Mecca of all fishing. I have to apologize to you too, I thought you were ChairForce. SEMPER Fi
I live in Shiga and I have never caught a Bass in Biwa. Always carp, sometimes trout, and one time a native species called Hasu. Biwa is really tough shore fishing. You did it right getting a guide.
@@RyanMorie Since Bass and Bluegill are invasive species, the prefectural government destroys Bass and Bluegill spawn beds every year, so the bite's been getting progressively more difficult in Biwa. I've had more luck in the rural ponds in Shiga. Next time you come through you should try some other spots in the area!
@@finnafishfl you mean in the video? I'm pretty sure they didn't do catch and release in the video. If they did, then their guide broke the law. It's against the law to catch and release Bass and Bluegill in Shiga Prefecture/Lake Biwa. They have disposal boxes all around the lake for you to throw out Bass and Bluegill. In terms of destroying spawn beds, the prefectural government is pretty well spread thin budget wise and they may not destroy them all over the lake. But last I heard they were destroying them around the southern part of the lake around the prefectural capital.
That is a beautiful lake , I just came back from fishing the Indian River which was calm and clear water I thought I had everything going this morning , live bait , lures well it was low tide and not much happened but as you say it's the challenge and enjoyment we get . Due to the Hurricanes and storms the surf has been rough for weeks so we have missed out on the mullet run around the Jensen beach area , but Tarpon and Snook are in the river waiting to test our skills I think I heard one laugh at me when he thew the hook last week LOL , enjoy thanks for the video.
Bob Scruggs fall fishing is one of my favorite times of year. Between the bluefish, blacktips, and other critters swimming south, there’s plenty of action headed your way!
I just started wad fishing the Indian river caught a couple Snook under docks and my first Redfish about 20 inch not like you guys show on your videos but my day will come , I'm using 10lb mono with 20lb test this should handle fish up to 20 - 25 lb range if everything goes right , what you think ?
Nice challenge Buddy! it will be 100yrs since the first bass was released in Lake Ashi. Lake Biwa used to be a mecca for bass but it’s quite tough to catch recently. Anyway pls try again to catch 10lb plus bass
I remember several years ago the news that a new world record Bass was caught in Japan did the Official Bass Association recognize this as a world record since the Bass fingerlings were from Florida ? I 'm not sure if they would go down without a fight , what was the weight ? thanks
I seen the pictures WOW ! , the guy who caught it according to an article I read had a lie detector hooked up and ask questions like all day , he had a video of catch .
I'm by no means an expert on bass tackle, but in my limited knowledge I feel like the differences are overblown in a "grass is always greener" kind of way. I haven't seen anything in bass tackle out here that I haven't seen i the USA,
Dear American boat fishing your embarrassing my American catching limits bigfoot record gumballs Boyz grandma already grilling her 8 lbs trout dinner girlz ty good jobs lol hilarious ty video.
What would you doods have thrown to catch a lunker? 🤔🤷🏽♂️

Is it allowed to fish anywhere in Osaka/Kyoto? Do I need to get a day pass or something?
