It CAN. If the door closes in it's face and it's close enough it can become stuck waiting for the door to open. Otherwise, the reason it upvents is because if the player is not accessible the alien goes backstage.
Ngl when I started playing amd I saw the xenomorph for the first time I got myself to the save state, saved, then immediatly quit for the night because I was so nervous. I managed to get back on the next but damn, the fear never really goes away no matter how many times you play this game.
@@googleyoflolz9930 never, it lowers your health. You are crouching which I can tell you makes no difference at all to the aliens vision. You might as well be walking slow. If you play nightmare you will probably only crouch a couple of times in the whole game because if you do it more than you will get caught since the alien already knows you're nearby and the longer you take the more rooms it has already searched so its getting closer. Once you play through it once or twice, you'll get to know where its going to come from so its not as hard as you think. The working joes are more of a threat, although you're allowed 1 hit so you can make a mistake, however theres many more of them
@@googleyoflolz9930 I know the game isnt very clear on the problem with lockers on nightmare where you cant see your health. When the alien gets you in the locker it actually means you suffocated to death. There can be many times in the game where its better to kill yourself and respawn
@@googleyoflolz9930Did nightmare with a few deaths, two in the hive. My advice would be walk more, crouch less and sprint basically never. Next, flares are your best friend, don't use them too often. Never ever craft pipe bombs, molotovs are absolutely best used as land mines to cover you in a vent or when you know it's likely you'll need the cover to do something. Lastly save your ammo for the elite Joes above the hive. Those encounters absolutely suck without firepower. If you can sneak in a pipe bomb (provided you're maxed on molotovs) save it for that. Also pro tip for the showroom; skip the Joes and go to the next room with the rewire, active the fire and it'll take far fewer revolver rounds to the head to kill them. Save your shotty for those aforementioned elites
You can avoid playing eh musical door buttons ;) if you use a rewire panel to disable one door. There's one rewire panel in the room that also opens with the 1702 door code or the room room with a bunch of beds and lights out. Disable one door. There is also a free flare on the desk if not on NM mode.
I just finished this level yesterday and scared the shit out of me. I had to access a door with password required and when the door opened, the xenomorph was behind it unexpectedly and killed me. And I play this game on my laptop with earphones.💀💀💀
When you are by such a door always take your wrench to it first. If the alien is there it will run for a vent so it can get behind you somewhere. But that's also a window of about 10s for you to SKEEDADDLE away as fast as Ripley can walk. If the door was in the 2nd part of Medical where you just watched Dr. Lindgard's video there's a trick to not having it behidn the door you use the keycard on. Set off the gas explosion right before going to the door. The alien is temporarily distracted by the sound and drops behind the fire so you have it out of line of sight for you to progress past the door. Then there are some tricks for the rest of the area.
I don't know if you saw the ending of the vid, but I was already at the end of the hospital level. I had already gotten past the animation. Also love your pfp
@@googleyoflolz9930 I would really love a predator isolation first especially would be cool to see him only attacking you if you would use weapons which would be an interesting game mechanic in a way to risk if it's good to use weapons or not similar to isolation using guns which could attract the xeno and the rest later in the game.
I know right it's really far more depth and very very scary and very terrifying and you're hands sweating from fear 😨 that the xenomorph is absolutely gonna get you and you're always looking behind you never know when an exam workshop pop out from nowhere
