This most certainly went for pulp. Not a lot of mills around here that can take one that size anymore. The ones that do want wm pretty clean. That stain and rot would be a solid no-go. Guaranteed she went for pulp
Man, a cord is 128 cubic feet. There's 288 cubic feet of wood in the first 8 foot chunk. The tree was an old growth, so close to 200 foot tall there's about 50 cords or more of wood in this dude easily. Probably more wood than you could burn in the rest of your life if you got the whole thing stacked where it wouldn't go bad. Assuming you burn a cord a year. But I guess some folks burn 3 to 4 cord a year who are home a lot in winter.

Both if my 084 saws burned up in the big fire a few years ago, but I did run them in bigger wood with a 36" sister make it any easier, but man it did it faster. So much horsepower and big dogs, it was less work to handle in that way. The big felling dogs were locked into that bark

Looking closer, it may be fir. My phone screen sucks. Big fir bark is usually more craggy. It looks like it cuts like fir.

The really old Doug fir, like 6-12 ft can be yellowish looking and totally different than young fir trees
