Wow that opened area in the woods is so peaceful and secluded! Todd you have the best knowledge for history and have met the greatest people on your adventures! Very thankful to have found your channel! James.
Glad you enjoyed it and yes I have been blessed. I have met some genuinely great people. I've seen good and bad in this hobby, but all the landowners have been wonderful.
You guys found it and did well. Gorgeous landscapes. Loved the episode and cool finds.
Beautiful forest and amazing to find a place in that. Enjoyed the video!
Very cool finds! You may have enough pieces to put that clock back together again!
I hope now that Autumn is here, you guys will go back there again!👍🏻🇺🇸
Awesome video Todd. Loved the background and your determination to not stop looking for this place.....you are on it there.
Hope your well brother some well interesting finds there 👍
Keep swinging and before long you’re going to be able to reassemble that mantle clock. Really nice site. Crazy how shallow the IHP was, but you know that’s about how shallow my GWB was. I love this hobby! It’s like a box of chocolates…..
Yeup....
I would love to find a place like that in the woods. I think it’s an old site Todd. Awesome video!
You are on it Todd. I bet a Civil War veteran lived there.
Awesome. Thank you!
You bet!
I love watching y'all find these places its so entertaining and so relaxing really looks like a lot of fun finding these artifacts from history. Excitingly but patiently waiting for the next video 😊
Thanks so much!
Your videos are top notch Todd. I would be pounding that site. Great adventure and dig.
Todd, congrats on all your finds so far on this old site. Hope you an your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. If your not on the home site, your very close. An definitely an old native site with all the piles of rock in the one area. An you are close to the other native site. The one find does look like a barrel ring from an old musket. What will you guys uncover next ? Hard so say but so far the finds are awesome/amazing. They all point to early habitants/people/natives. If only the woods could talk. Lol. Todd have an awesome weekend. An we will catch you on your next history, story, adventure. 😁👍👍
Thanks Richard....just now getting to all the comments....I've been busy with my time off with family and honey do's around the house. I hit this site again recently and am excited for you all to see what I uncovered....
I think you found it. Definitely a home site. A must go back to.
Thanks, Todd❤
I'd love to see the old colonial site! I think it would be interesting to see the differences in artifacts between the civil war era homes and the colonial home sites! Thanks for sharing with us!
Hey Eric I filmed it and will release it probably around Christmas. I end up finding a 1732 KG2 and many buttons and shoebuckles.
Todd , I think I recognize that T-Tap you found as an old wood barrel tap handle dispenser 😊
I think so too....I would have loved to have found the whole thing. Maybe its still up there. I need the brush cleaned off that site,, so. hard to swing it.
Thanks Chuck! Great video! I would say you found it. The funds were all interesting. I think a Civil War soldier
lived there.
Hello from Knoxville my friend. Loved the video. I remember as a boy going through the brush to get to the big woods. We would walk up the creek in the summer if the water was low. That’s an old house site. I hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving. Say hello to them for me.
Thanks Steve and I hope yours was a fantastic one too. Did you have family visit or were you able to get out?
@@AppalachianHistoryDetectives I had family and friends. I had a house full. My daughter that’s in New York will be home Christmas. Have a wonderful Christmas.
Loving your channel !
Great video guys 💚
Glad you enjoyed it
Wonderful episode, you did find the Peacemaker homestead. Nice to meet Chuck. Amazing scenery, we love scouting in the woods. So many nice finds Todd, love the old cork top medicine bottle. 👍👏😀
Thanks Twins and always appreciate the comments. Happy Thanksgiving
Nice!!!
that is great
Loved the video....the music is soothing and the scenery spectacular but I think you found some interesting artifacts that point to the house site. Congrats.
GreT Vedic Todd looking forward to you going back in the fall thanks Tom
great work, and great video!! Happy Holidays!
Thank you! You too!
Chuck.
Todd thanks you.
I thank you and History thanks you:)
Cheers,
Rik Spector
You bet!
Best of luck out there.
Nice to know other diggers our helping on another, myself & Calabash Digger just had a similar situation.
🕶👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I'm so glad you found the home site!!! Great Finds!!! I also wanted to say... HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Even if I'm a day late!!! God Bless Us All!!!
The one piece looks like a shovel to take ashes out of heating stove
Interesting. It could be for sure.
Hello to Chuck! I think you are right. You may have found it.
Congrats on finding the house site. Hope you both had fun at the next site and found those buttons you were looking for. Let us know if you found something outstanding. Happy digging!
Hey Lynn thanks for asking. I did go down there and found some buttons but went back today with the Deus 2 and did very well including a 1732 KG2. I filmed it this time.
That's awesome Todd!
Very cool finds need to go back in fall or early spring when the vegetation is dead lol God Bless and happy dirt fishin
Yep just went back and found 3 times what I found in this episode but I used the Deus this time.
You're on a home site. Looks like its an old war verterans homestead. Is there an old cemetery in the area? You might be in luck and find out who he was. They would usually have made him a headstone. That would tie things up neatly. And put a name to the homestead.
I do find some interesting things here coming up in another upcoming episode. I went back and found a P53 Enfield butt plate and in a prior video looking for this place I found a Louisiana button.
I find this all so fascinating. Can you confirm ownership through the county records at least as far as to the original land patent? Thanks for bringing us along.
You can and we did. Spent an afternoon going back through old land records to locate the approximate location for this house. The land was acquired by the current owner in 1921.
Just getting ready to watch this one on the t.v. I know without watching it will be epic. Hope you and your family had an awesome thanksgiving.
Thanks Gaye. I hope it didn’t disappoint. For me this find was epic as I had given up on locating it. Bless Chucks heart. He knew…..
It did not disappoint and I know how excited you were to find this place. I've watched you search for it before.
@@gayeyount7948 Yep I was. Wait to you see what I find there on my return trip. A display item and even bucketlister.
Can't wait to see it.
could from farmers clearing rocks out of field I have seen them before
😅it's called a barrel band for a very old gun
Todd, around the 6 minute slot, I saw something that has been postulated to be a sign of Bigfoot. Isn't that a 3 or 4 inch circumference tree that has been snapped off and let fall in a certain direction. I don't think snow would have broken that small tree and it is also too big for a human being to have done it. Kind of makes you think when you are out in the woods.
Wait to you see what I pull out in Part 2 of this site Tom...
Kewl place! I went to school with a guy named Peacemaker whose family lived in Martinsburg back in the 70's. Not sure if a relationship of any kind but really didn't know exactly where you were detecting. Nice artifacts!!
I believe they would be related. I'm not that far from Martinsburg really and there aren't many Peacemaker's around.....I couldn't even find them going back that far so I think they are recent (after 1800) immigrants to the area.
Your on a old farm sight.
