And this is what i love about this band! They never stroked feathers about their music, they played like they meant it. That is something we don't get in the modern "make it sound as easy as possible" ear.

They were not commercial whores. That's why they played from their souls.

Check out the showdown of the olde Chicagoans on "Chicago and All That Jazz" but this is one of the all time best of the Condon Groups!!

Thanks - do you know the original recording of "Wherever There's Love" on this album - sweetest sounds I know! I just found this in thrift store and treasure it. Mom was a great fan of Condon and my Uncle Gene was New York Homicide Detective goofing off at Condon's one night when it was robbed - Condon had great touch and feel - God bless them all.

+Jon Mathis Phrasing is like Caceres', but this sounds like a bass sax to me. Did Ernie - one of the most under-rated swing musicians by the way - ever play bass? Could also be John Dengler - a brilliant bass sax man. I agree with the others. Who's on piano? These round, inter-twined phrases sound like Jess Stacy, or maybe Dick Cary. At one point or another I hear Bud Freeman (When the saints...). Not sure with the bone.
