Is the 25% bonus a one off bonus or can you get up to £1000 bonus per tax year? I.e a £1000 in one tax year then £1000 in the next so long as you put in £4000 every tax year
Great question! You will get a 25% bonus every year you pay money into your account. This is up to a total of around £32,000 in bonuses from the government, if you're paying into your LISA for the longest time possible (18-50). Hope that helps 😊
for each £1 you deposit into a Lifetime ISA, the government will deposit £0.25 up to a maximum of £1000 per tax year. you can deposit into your LISA until your 39th birthday. if you choose to withsraw the funds in your LISA for any purpose other that to buy a house, retirement at the age of 60 or for terminal illness, you will recieve a 25% penalty which means you will lose the govenrment bonus plus some of your own money as well.
