Giving honor to a young man who believed that forfeiting his life to preserve the integrity of our nation was more important than enjoying a long life of wealth and privilege. RGS, thank you for your sacrifice to keep our nation together. Rest in peace with your men.

The gilding on the guard and pommel isn’t battle worn, it has virtually no wear. Looks like it was rarely drawn from the scabbard, at least by him.

The 54th surely deserve the admiration and recognition. History sure is fascinating...I'm surprised the sword is still intact.

Hope they had a legal clause in the disposition that it returns to the appropriate heir when it's no longer displayed at the museum.

amazing peace of history, however I would not have given the Sword to the Museum, I would have loaned it, as most owners of art do.

Them descendents went snooping around their relatives attic looking for opportunity and found it. They prob made a fortune selling a piece of their heritage theres no way they just gave it away. Shameful how greedy ppl are

@@brianpeters867Leave the statues & flags up as a lesson to all not to go there again. Those who don't learn from their past history are damned to keep repeating it You can't "whitewash" history no matter how offensive or distasteful it can be. War IS hell 😯!!!
