    Great video as always Noel. I love seeing all these flights to the different small airfields. The type of aircraft you see are so varied. Well done doing the grass landing, definitely a bit different from the normal hard runways. ✈️

      Thank you! So much to see at the smaller airfields. And had a bit of a bounce on that one but really wanted to make sure I was down!

    A controlled grass field, something I have never experienced here in the USA, very interesting! Number 50 of likes! Another awesome video, really enjoying this channel and content! Thank you Noel for your videos!

      Thank you, we have a few of them! Although strictly speaking Sywell is an information service rather than controlled - they will give you certain instructions (such as taxi or reporting) but it’s always at the pilots discretion.

    Did all my training out of sywell and 23 was actually my favourite ❤ ( apart from 21R or 03) lol looks as though you had about 300 meters left. I don’t fly anymore but love to see videos being put up 🙏 it’s a great airfield

    600 meters is fine, learned to fly myself in LSPL, landing mostly on its tiny runway 23 with a mere 475 meters of asphalt. Actually easy doable, we even have lads that fly Malibus into that airfield. Short field operations makes you generally fly more accurate in my experience.

    Hi Noel, Really nice flight and very nice landing, I would not put the headset near the compass, the magnet in the headset would damage the compass…

    600m? I'm learning mostly on a 547m 23 grass runway at EGDB, with trees on the boundary. Red letter day when the wind says I can practice on the 594m 35 without the trees :-)

      @@FlyWithNoelPhilips Yes it is, and they do Spitfire flights, as we saw in the video, P47 and P51 flights I believe as well, the last time I visited anyway, plus the small museum they have at Sywell is also worth a visit, I know it is closed currently due to Covid, so not sure of the opening hours when it re-opens, my local airfield is Wellsbourne Mountford and has a nice cafe there and the saturday market. But for me I prefer Sywell it really is a lovely little airfield, especially with the Spitfire flights, love seeing the Spitfire personally. I believe they are holding an air show at Sywell this year as well :) Anyway another great Video Noel, really enjoying all of them and your adventures :)

    • @FlyWithNoelPhilips
      @FlyWithNoelPhilips  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Yes I think Sywell is closed until next week for non-flying visitors. Wellesbourne is on my list to visit though.

    • @lucysharman5414
      @lucysharman5414 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FlyWithNoelPhilips I nearly forgot to mention that also at Wellesbourne there is a Vulcan XM655 if you did not already know that is looked after and maintained by volunteers and if you go on a Saturday morning then the volunteers will take you up inside it into the cockpit for a tour and it is situated next to the south warwickshire flying school and there cessna 152s. Also there is a small museum next to the cafe also run by volunteers however that is only open on sunday mornings. Anyway keep up all the good work with the videos on this channel and inflight video as well and I look forward to hopefully meeting you at one of these airfields in the near future or on your travels of course :)
