This season was great. I can't believe it ended already. Makeine was the surprise, together with Magical Girl, Dedede and Days with my Stepsister they all made this season so varied and tasteful, with something for every like. Oshi no Ko and Monogatari, together with Spice and Wolf were expected to be great, and they delivered. I am so glad that I watched a lot of great anime this season. Great review, I agree a lot with it.
Yatagarasu Makeine Spice and Wolf Monogatari: so happy the snail goddess is getting more screen time and nostalgic interaction with Araragi and even Shinobu got involved last week. Flubbing! Oshi no Ko Were the five must watch every week in summer 2024 not in any order but these five were the standouts for me. I haven’t watched the last episode of Ayayaya yet and not really in a hurry to watch it. Sorry I flubbed it. I meant Alya…Kamimashita ;p
My top anime for this season 1. S&W And thats about it. While they were many good seriss this season, despite my heavy bias for this series, I just cannot fathom another series ever being as unique yet simple as S&W for the future of any media. Hasekura sensei has cooked these past almost 19 years coming on 20 in a year and a half-ish now. And I hope he continues but at his own pace as all I need in my life is S&W and the dynamics between not jist Holo and Lawrence but also the side characters is something that no other series can compete with S&W on that topic and many others. Amazing video and if I was being for real, my top 10 would look bascially identical to yours for this anime season.
I agree with everything, but Spice and wolf (poor looking. old s2 was 100x times better), Yatagarasu (it feels like only beginning of a greater story. and i don't understand what the boy did in the entire season) and Slime (it was very bad adoptation. read the Light novel pls). yeah, Wistoria, Dazai isekai and Elusive samurai are in my top 10 instead

Makeine is the one for me, it has all, great comedy, phenomenal characters, excellent drama mixed with the comedy in such a perfect way ufff. It truly deserves a sequel, my deadline is at his anniversary, that could be a great day to announce something, but overall a fantastic show. PS: Lemon 🍋 is my favorite as well she is so cute.

Yes I said 4 because that are the only ones translated, the other 3 we need to wait. My #1 is "Oshi no Ko". My #2 is "Dead Dead Demons Destruction". And despite the production quality, my #3 is "Failure Frame". I also forgot that I'm on episode 6 of "Alya" - That show's funny. I just got too drunk and forgot I was in the middle of watching it.
Humble shoutout for Bye Bye Earth it may be confusing but it man the story got to me with the main girl struggling to connect with people and slowly getting better at it. I’m glad you’re gonna be tuning in for season 2, I’m hopeful it’ll be strong

Monogatari Series: Off Season / Monster Season The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses (Season 2) Oshi no Ko (Season 2) Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines! 2.5 Dimensional Seduction Love is Indivisible by Twins Alya Sometimes Hides her Feelings in Russian Days with My Stepsister Spice and Wolf: Merchant meets the Wise Wolf Atri: My Dear Moments The only egregious omission I see from your list is Café Terrace and Its Goddesses. Quite simply the most entertaining anime I've watched since I started watching anime back in 2019 at the young age of 36. 700 anime later and it's the funniest. Please give it a chance and you'll likely do more videos about it then you make for Mushoku Tensei (which happens to be my favorite fantasy isekai).
My main thing with Alya was it just.. where's the romance? The student council and his sister literally took over the show. What we got though? Was amazing, and with Alya's sister.. she knows who he is but nothing ever comes back up with that? Same thing with me. My favorites this season were Makeine, Pseudo Harem, Wistoria, S&W, and Days with my Stepsister. All were amazing, just blew me away, and I got my Mom addicted to anime this season! She watched S&W! I really wanted to like Failure Frame but gosh.... the CGI.
Summer season was pretty meh for me. Only a show or two per day which was actually kinda nice. I already know Fall is going to have sooooooo many shows to watch! That said, my top 5 of the Summer 1. Makeine - almost an anti-romcom. Looked beautiful and every episode had a bit of something great. While no s2 announcement yet, I'm hoping there will be once the connect content is there. 2. Yatagarasu - no one talked about this for two seasons! So sleeper hit/cult classic. Incredible world, characters, and story. Hopefully another season for this one, especially with the dangling threads and surprising twist at the end! 3. No Longer Allowed in Another World. Lots of humor and story twists. 4. Ramen Akaneko - just a chill SOL about a ramen shop ran by cats that hires their first human. OP is beautiful! Edit. Changed my mind! Forgot the real #5 - Quality Assurance in Another World. Art, characters, story all added to to something unexpectedly good. Honorable mentions: Ossan Newbie Adventurer - it starts slow but by the end it's so much better. I Parry Everything - well made even though the MC, Noor, is a bit thick, he's kind.

Thumbing through the summer listings before the season start, I was dreading the overweight of romantic titles, which was never in my wheelhouse. By the fourth week, I was sucked into so many romance series, I was honestly surprised how mature some storylines were handled in this batch. 'My Senpai Is an Otokonoko' was on the softball side of this, and 'Makeine' punched *way* above its weight with its incredibly detailed personalities and tight writing.
New to this channel, but have been watching anime for decades! I love hearing people talk about their favs passionately! Thanks for diving into the seasonal stuff, I know it can be a lot !
Generally speaking I agree on these rankings, I didn't quite watch everything but I watched most of them and it's pretty accurate to what I would say. Makine #1 for sure.
Tower of god season 2 cour 1 not coming because they getting classroom of the elite s1 to s3 type mid adaption treatment aka adaption wise with 91% to 94% to 95% webtoon source material and cut some small scene / dialogue . Outside of that animation wise ass to mid !
Monogatari and spice & wolf is my favorite this season Btw is monogatari ending after episode 12 or there is more I'm still waiting for gahara-san to show up😢
If you're pressed for time, at least start watching from episode 20. They adapted something skipped from the first adaptation. It's a good story and includes characters (I'm told) will be in the story later. That said, if you have time, it's worth a re-watch.
Along with the aforementioned adaptation of volume 4 this time around that was skipped over in the old anime, there is also some changes to the first arc in the new version that make it a little more faithful to volume 1 of the light novel. So if you've got the time to fit it in, the new Spice and Wolf is totally worth it
When it comes to Robots with Emotions, or combat Androids in my example. I would often think about Mahoromatic from the early/mid 2000s, that series was special when it comes to a Combat Android trying to live out her last year of her life serving the young master who was the son of her former commander.
Fairy Tail continues to get hate for literally no reason it’s actually really sad how an animanga this big just gets random hate and very little attention since it’s return
Iam happy that time i got reincarnated as a slime season 3 is number 10 best summer 2024 anime . It was good to potential legendary action , world building , lore , fighting , politics and isekai anime for me and i give this anime 8.92 out 10 ratings !

Of all the anime series that i've watched this season, Makeine and Atri were the ones that I started the latest but after catching up on them and finishing up all the other series in my watchlist, Atri is my favorite this season as there's the emotional aspect of the story that moved me to tears. Alya, Osho no Ko and Makeine were up there as well but Atri was one which I enjoyed the most as it was the most impactful series, for me at least.

In Nier Automata, I found one of the more **charming** explorations of "robot humanity" happened in the first cour, episode 2 or 3. One of the Machine Lifeforms gets disconnected from its network and becomes enamored with a flower.... and seeing how obsessive it becomes to nurture and protect this one small piece of nature.

Monogatari is ending this season with so far 11 out of a confirmed 14 (based on the released Blu-ray info) episodes released so far. There is more content to be adapted hopefully in the future, but for now this is all we have.
Really just depends on if they do a multi-part, as they haven't barely touched all of the stories in Off/Monster season. Maybe 5 of 20 of the stories? I've never read it so I'm going vaguely based on the titles.
Makeine was an easy pick for number one this season, i feel the same about roshidere, its not the same when the support cast is not the focus, loved nier like always but i was sad that we didnt got your episode review like with part 1 and i didnt watched the rest of the list, sadly time is limited for me and i must reduce what i watch to 4 or 5 animes per season, but this next season i have only 2 shows im interested in so ill try to catch up to my must watch list or give some of your top animes here a chance
can someone who liked losing heroines explain the appeal to me? cuz like, it looked good from a production and character design standpoint for sure but i couldn’t get into it much plot-wise.
Makeine was my favorite anime of the season, but not because of the plot, the plot isn't really the point. It's the characters that make the show great, they're just extremely likable and make the show a joy to watch, not only that but the show is just funny.

Makeine not only was an excellent series, it had THREE different ending J pop songs that were sung by the VAs. All three are now on my playlist.

What this anime its new release "Let This Grieving Soul Retire!"

Makeine was an easy pick for number one this season, i feel the same about roshidere, its not the same when the support cast is not the focus, loved nier like always but i was sad that we didnt got your episode review like with part 1 and i didnt watched the rest of the list, sadly time is limited for me and i must reduce what i watch to 4 or 5 animes per season, but this next season i have only 2 shows im interested in so ill try to catch up to my must watch list or give some of your top animes here a chance

I would not put OshiNoKo S2 that high. The first half of the new season fell short multiple times, I was even bored in a few episodes.
can someone who liked losing heroines explain the appeal to me? cuz like, it looked good from a production and character design standpoint for sure but i couldn’t get into it much plot-wise.
Honestly its a highschool comedy drama romance if that doesnt appeal to you then its not for you🤷♂️
Makeine was my favorite anime of the season, but not because of the plot, the plot isn't really the point. It's the characters that make the show great, they're just extremely likable and make the show a joy to watch, not only that but the show is just funny.
I'll probably be reviewing it on the podcast releasing Tuesday if want a more in depth explanation.

I just didn't like the female character designs and this school uniform with all those bows. That's why I decided not to continue watching.
