*I’ve been running ads for months, and now I realize why I wasn’t getting the results I expected. These mistakes are so common but easy to avoid with the right approach.*
I have nearly completed your Google Adwords course Benjamin, setting up two campaigns and already seeing conversions. Top Return on Investment! And loved this video, helped me to make some improvements already. It is so refreshing to watch your "straight to the point" approach, big thank you from Melbourne!
Mistakes made by most of Google Ads users: 1. Expectation does not align with the budget. 2. Never look out to their competitors creatives or landing pages. No matter how high your budget is, if your landing page is not appealing, you will get less conversions. In addition, if your competitors got higher budget to spend, you should consider your expectation as well. This is a competition and race on the first place. 3. Only do a surface level market or industry research (wrong budget or bid calculation, wrong targeting). 4. Relying too much on features or settings in Google Ads while the conversions are affected by so many external variables. Google Ads is just a tool. The result is not depend on how the tools works, instead, the result is depend on how good you use the tools. Google Ads will definitely get the best traffic for you, it is a very sophisticated tools. But if you are using it in wrong way, then the result might not be as how you expect it to be. Pro Tip: Always look out for variables outside of Google Ads as well for a better result. Anyway, awesome tips as usual Benjamin!
Yes, yes, yes and yes! Great points, especially if you are looking after client accounts. Some are covered in my older AdWords video at th-cam.com/video/9z-ILKbs3-I/w-d-xo.html
It sounds like you're using a 'Smart Campaign' which I personally don't recommend. You should be able to switch to 'Expert Mode' by selecting 'Tools' (please note, that you can't switch back).
Thanks for watching Edward! I do have a walk-through in my paid course, but not on TH-cam yet. I've added it to my list of requested topics. Stay tuned!
Hi Benjamin, glad you are back! What are your thoughts on negativizing exact version of a keyword in the bmm ad group (having a structure separated by match types)? It is supposed to always win the exact according to google algorithms, but I’ve seen that sometimes the term is triggered by the bmm if it’s not negativized. I don’t know if I was clear. Thanks!
Hey Wiktor, I'm glad you liked the video! You can use negative exact match and negative phrase match keywords, but you can't mix any of the other keyword match types.

Thanks nice and clear and like the screen views to see where to go. What is 'branded keywords'?
Branded keywords are product brands you can include on your keywords like Nike shoes, etc. :)
Another helpful video. BTW, I noticed you never answered Federico Correa question from a year ago.
