You can also make It a 22 blocks fall and add a trident killer on the botton. If you keep a looting III sword in your hand the drops rate will encrease a lot.
Emerald farm is very inficient because if you have a villagers nearby who dont have jobs which you will have because its a emerald farm and you need emeralds to trade with villagers its very anoying to have the villager unlink on your last golden apple or weakness potion and reset the trade and getting weakness potions is hard in the early game so why not build a raid farm its more exspensive but is much better first off you can afk it and get lots of emeralds and as a upside you also get totems and other stuff that is useful
We can add up to it to make it better in the gold farm Place hoppers under the chest Which is collecting the gold and connect it to a furnace and it will smelt and then a hopper connected to the furnace into a chest that makes a auto smelter
A few changes to the gold farm 1) Some way to easily turn off the portal when not in use, such as putting a dispenser by the lava. This would prevent Overworld return into the gold farm. 2) Enter the portal once, then wall off the Nether end with a neighboring iron golem to kill the escapees. 3) Protect the lava from Creepers.
The gold farm with nether portal can definitely be optimized more. The trap doors should run aling the edge of the portal. In the design you showed, only one of the trap doors was doing anything(far left one). I have solved this issue while compacting a tiled version that uses 6 portals in one chunk. Portals have a 2 block space between them. PxxPxxPxxPxxPxxP. On the outside edge between the portals and at the top of pirtals is where I put the lava/trapped doors with observers under lava. When done on both sides of portals this provides 4 ignition points per portal except the outside portals that only get 2 ignitions points. I use dispenser at bottom corner(back side) and run restone to all dispensers from a piston double edge clock. This turns the portal off and on twice as fast. One 6 portal setup yields 8-12 zombified pigmen per second. Pair that with a trident kill box for massive xp in addition to gold farm.

A single portal is effective for early game. if building an overworld gold farm, it is likely because it is a world you are going to be playing on for awhile. It is definitely worth the extra effort to expand and make it more efficient. Tip 2 - Make A Trident Killer For The Gold Farm, After You Made It, Hold A Looting 3 Sword And You Will Get The Looting 3 effect To You Trident, Which Means You Will Get More Drops And You Can AFK At The Farm!! Tip 3 - Use A Minecart With Hopper If You Are Not Getting Cooked Chicken And It Is Geting Burnt, But If The Minecart With Hopper Is Picking The Eggs, Then Just Remove It And Place A Normal Hopper, You Could Also Try Replacing The Slab With A Camp Fire(Remember To put Off Fire The Fire With a Shovel lol)
