Just started about a month ago and already addicted. I have the Dunu Titan S2. Wan'er, and the zero reds. Really all of them for what they offer, plus you always got EQ, currently looking for my endgames i got about 500, doesn't mean i need to spend it. I listen to all genres but mainly classic rock. Jazz, Funk, and classical. I know i know, but i love details in my sound and feel like i have yet to find the right sound yet. I play alot of instruments and when I really listen I love to dissect every instrument parts and vocal harmonies. Timber is very important to me as well. Great channel you gotna new subscriber
@yusei249 I will check it out. I have been looking at the DaVinci's, Performer 4, meyer audio slivo, and even the variations, but I feel that won't have enough bass. I am also looking at Jay's Siimgat, and on the highest end the SA6. I guess I like detail and naturalistic sound.
having an extremely horrible IEM, besides the role of reminding what bad sound is like, but also, to a certain extent, serves to temper one's urge to upgrade/sidegrade to new hyped flavor-of-the-weeks when you already have your so-called "end-game" lol. Just put on the horrible-sounding IEM for a day, and endure, then next day wear your favorite end-game, and you'll appreciate what you have all over again lol.
So far my collection are: Blon 03: THE BEATER EW200: Reference tuning for Bright and Crisp Tri Draco: Reference tuning for Smooth and Warm Quarks DSP: Moondrop's house tuning Truthear Hexa: Reference for Neutral (ONE OF MY FAVOURITES) Letshouer S12: A taste of planar sound and reference Myer Audio's CKLVX D41: My END GAME (Also my favourite)
Watching this with my Endgame, the Estrella Apparently my preference sound signature matches with your’s From now on, I trust your review with my life.
I only take beaters to the office. I think the Kailua and EA500 are the most expensive office set. I like having some bass, and with a bit mid-bass, but there are lots of way to get to enjoyable audio.
So informative vid!!!👏 👏 👏 But can you be the first to do something that up to day no one did: the REVIEW or the LIST OF IEMS THAT ARE BEST FOR TODAY MAJORITY ELECTRONIC MUSIC GENRES namely INSTRUMENTAL TRANCE and VOCAL TRANCE?!.
Hi Jay, loved the vid! Been a long time subscriber here. I currently own the Supermix 4 and very impressed with it so far. However I've been growing very curious about the endgame stuff and would like to ask, if I would upgrade to an IEM in the 600-1000 range, how much of a noticeable difference would it make? For example, something like upgrading to the Oracle MkIII or Hype 10. I seem to like it better when I EQ my SM4 to those two. I live in a country where there's not much audio stuff especially IEMs to go demo around so I would appreciate your insight 😊
Coming from a non-reviewer standpoint, because idk if he will respond, over the last year and a half I got the Dunu SA6 Mk. II, the Moondrop Variations, the Timeless AE, the Hype 4, and most recently the Supermix 4 and the Estrella, and my two favorite sets are the SM4 and the SA6 Mk II (not a recommendation, I just love it, it’s 580). Pretty much at higher prices, if you’re looking at close to the same tuning (close to Harman, or, if you really are looking at Oracle Mk. 3 or Hype 10, more like natural with bass or subbass boost), so you get the tech. I like the SA6 mk. 2 because of the “soundstage” but that’s a subjective effect, it’s really just up to the effect you want, but the SM4 was an excellent place to start EQing to learn what you want, in my opinion. I think if you discover a tuning you love, and find a store with an excellent return policy, maybe try something out, but all of my purchases have been blind-buys… and I’ll just say I haven’t been happy with all of them (looking at you Moondrop QC)
@@irvin3479 oh also! what i will say is that Jay’s IEM Genre guide (in the description) is pretty well done for so many different preferences and price points.

I use to buy loads of sets & then realized I'd never listen to most of them after a couple of listens so I got rid of a load and focused on the ones I do use, I try to keep it less than 10 sets now & swap out one when I think I've found a better version of it & honestly that's probably too much because in reality I use 3-4 most of the time.
I use my Tea 2's and Heyday as beaters. How long til companies start churning out 20 dollar full range planar IEMs? OMG would value skyrocket through the rood.
I find it difficult to find an IEM to start with. I own some pretty nice grado SR 325's and wanted to try some IEM's I only have about 150 + some wiggle room
As a super noob, The estrella are the most expensive set I bought, and I'm quiet surprised every time by the details retrieval and separation and very nice soundstage I get, now I'm waiting for reviews for the aful 5+2 wich seem quiet nice, I'm really looking for details, and separation any very good set to recommend? Especially for death metal, prog etc
Hey. What‘s your budget? IMO there is nothing better than Estrella bellow 300 bucks. The bass hits really hard, resolution and details are great (till 500 bucks) and the soundstage is massive and competes under kilobuck. More monitor-like or studio-like technical is the Oriveti OH700VB. Very detailed bass and pin point imaging. Otherwise also very technical are the I/O Volare (very good res and deep soundstage) or Xenns Top (for me the most true to live sound).
Budget? You won't notice a noticeable upgrade until you move up to the Crimson and Prestige LTD, and even then the difference isn't huge. The Crimson is the upgrade to the Estrella, but not huge. Check my rankings/genre list
Wait am I not the only one who recommeneded these earphones? Spoiler- I tried them sound quality compares closely to my KZ ZSN Pro 2's which are pretty bad for what they charge for these headphones MSRP in my opinion
That last point is GOATED. It’s worth watching till the end on this one, respect, Jay 🤝
