    The comment section made me realize there's an entire generation our gere that grew up on large box braids with rubber bands, crochet braids and the "recent" knotless box braids-and they've never done or seen the micro braids being done like this😂😂

    • @SHOHARJ
      @SHOHARJ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      That is funny. I was watching a video the other day and was trying to figure out why people were using rubber bands. It looks good until your hair breaks off. I know there are some rubber bands that claim to prevent breakage but I'm not risking that. Unique to see the girls pull it off. I'ma keep old schooling it since I ain't getting no younger lol.

    • @SHOHARJ
      @SHOHARJ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @Star I'm hoping someone in their generation with hair care knowledge will be able to teach them something. You know how it is online, you try to tell the younger generation something and they think you're attacking. Heck, my five year old just told me that there is no E in the word bed because he can't hear it lol rotf. 😪 I'm teaching him to listen (eventually lol).

      I remember these from back in the early to mid 2000’s they was very popular among the black community lol. Only thing I would always hear is how they pull your hair out but other than that it’s a nice hairstyle honestly in my opinion but yeah the new generations don’t know nothin about em !

    IDC what nobody say!! Micro braids is the best hair method ever! Especially for damage and shorter hair. I just install micros braids and it took me 17 hrs because I made the micros braid very small bc my hair is a little damage from moving around so much and I had to take a break from the wigs. Lace glue was breaking out my forehead.. 😬
    Anyways, you did amazing job! Your braiding so neat and I love the inches🥴🥰😍❤️🤟🏾🙏💯

    Beautiful! I used to get my hair braided all the time by a pro Braider here in NY. I’ve had micro braids many times and I’ve used His & Hers hair . I always felt most beautiful with braids but I’m older now and the time sitting and taking it out got to be too tedious for me bcuz my hair was the length of this clients too. I finally decided to get Sisterlocks . I’m laughing at those last few braids on the top bcuz by then I would feel like saying just leave it I’ll finish those myself tomorrow even though I can’t braid for nothing. What a beautiful job. I know she’s gonna enjoy those.

    I have always thought micro braids were beautiful! I ended up going down a tutorial hole because I'm making a sculptural project for my portfolio using my cut off hair from a big chop! I wanted to turn my hair into a kind of thread or string but a lot of it ended up too short, so this REALLY helped me with learning to make longer segments! I've always wanted to do micro braids on my own hair but never have because I'm not POC so it was really fun to learn how to do it for an art project! I know I probably sound insane but my master's work portfolio subject is memento mori and I was super inspired by victorian mourning jewelry and art and wanted to do a modern take on it. So far this technique has worked the best for me in term of making resilient, neat pieces that I can actually work with! They look like beautiful, glossy cords. I'm still struggling with getting all the little hairs in and not having any whispies sticking out, and it takes me forever to make one little segment because my white girl hair is so slippery and keeps sliding out of my grip.
    Anyways sorry for the ramble but thank you for this great tutorial!

    Gorgeous workmanship. I admire your expertise from Thea in London. I am going do some micros over the Xmas holidays. I have waist length hair, so I take my time and I do not install or pull my micros too tight. This means that they last a long time and I do not use a lot of extension hair. I only use the extension hair to reinfofce my own hair, and so it works for ne. In Lockdown...I have been plaiting my own hair but I will add extensions during the Xmas break so that they last longer. Keep doing your gorgeous, gorgeous work😊

    I had micro braids back in January of this year and I loved them. Yes, I'd get them again, the only drawback for me is the price. I have natural thick shoulder length hair so it's pricey.

    • @martisasearcy2039
      @martisasearcy2039 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You can probably look at it like this... minimum wage is about $12 ph. 12 x 24 = $288.00, braiding is not a minimum wage job, so if they charge $25 ph. it ends up being $600. It's worth it because if you get your hair done weekly it's about $60, times that by 12 weeks its $720.00. Micro's can last 3 months its well worth it I think

Have you or should I say can you (yourself) do micro braid on a pixie cut that has new growth in the back and on the sides thts about an inch long. 3. How do a consultation work if I want my hair done, do I need to buy my hair and what kind? 4. Price? I absolutely love your work, seen different videos and I think your work is the best!
