  • Aymeric cooks CHEESE SAMBOSAS and MASABEEB!
    Aymeric is back in the kitchen (it's been over a whole year since our last Cooking Around the World with Aymeric video!) and he's making food from Saudi Arabia. We have been living in Saudi Arabia for the past year and these are two of our favourite Saudi foods that we have tried.
    The sambosas (or samosas) are filled with Saudi feta cheese which is a milder and creamier feta than the Greek feta that we are used to back home. We had never even heard of a cheese-filled samosa before we tried some at a local festival. And the masabeeb are sort of like mini Saudi whole wheat pancakes soaked in butter and honey. Both are really delicious!
    Our masabeeb recipe:
    1 cup whole wheat flour / 1 tbsp baking powder / 1/8 tsp salt / 1 egg / 1 cup milk
    Combine dry ingredients then mix in wet ingredients until combined. On a lightly buttered frying pan over medium heat, cook the masabeeb until lightly browned on one side; flip and cook until lightly browned on the other side.
    Roughly equal parts honey and unsalted butter - In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and then mix in the honey.
    Pour the honey-butter all over the masabeeb and enjoy!
