    Dont give up, FS25 turns out to be way more challenging than FS22 so it is the right series lol. You need a proper plan and I'd say yes to the sawmill.

      its not really its just Dagger has to do content work, which of course i love and that's the deal for a you tuber. Really though just spam logging till you can buy a lumber mill and then its easy money selling planks etc.

      @@toddblankenship7164 if you buy the third farm it comes with a sawmill you wouldnt even need to buy to begin, it was one of the first things I did to buy this plot. Now Giants put superstrength in the base game its easy to empty the forest you get with this plot.

    Knowing how Slow the Sawmill is in your Single Player, my Opinion is go either for 2 together, or if feasable, directly target the next bigger One. After all, you know what happens with Deadwood that is not inside a Production when you turn a Contract in

      I bought the miter sawmill and it's really damn good imo. It's a good middle ground at 150k, although still ridiculously expensive if you're starting from scratch.

    Definitely opt for the flatbed trailer over logging specific trailers. the future potential uses like carting pallets etc make the flatbed trailers more viable. plus will strap the logs so height and rolling off the side isnt really an issue as you proved in this episode with the smaller trailer

    • @goofy851
      @goofy851 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yep, buying logging trailers makes no sense in FS as the second you put even a single strap over the logs the laws of physics stop affecting them. The only time I ever bought them was for RP reasons on MP servers.

    If you cut all the deadwood trees before you process them, the contract will go to completed status and the timer will go away. However, as long as you don't collect the contract you have as much time as you need to load the wood.

  • @Schmittez
    @Schmittez 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +20

    Both of the small logging trailers can be bought with out the crane. The listed price is the price with out the crane, they get far more expensive if you add it.

  • @joelventola
    @joelventola 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +25

    The time limit is based from when the contract appears. So you have x hours to take the contract and complete it. So if you let it sit on the "offer" list you are burning the time you have to finish it up. Tho oddly enough seems that the timer which shows the time left on the contract isn't there on multiplayer which makes it harder to know ofc.

    • @ram89572
      @ram89572 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      really? that's insane. I thought that was just a timer for it to expire in the offers list. I didn't know that I was potentially effing myself taking contracts unknowingly. I haven't run into this issue. But then again I also play my game on 1/2 speed rather than even 1x.

    • @PannekoekSpellekes
      @PannekoekSpellekes 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      The deadwood and wood transport contracts also seem to be constantly available - within minutes after finishing one, a new one will pop up. There's also no penalty for canceling a deadwood contract, only for cutting down unmarked trees. (I assume there is a penalty for canceling a transport contract, haven't tested that.)
      So if the timer is about to run out, or it's in a location you don't particularly fancy, you can just quickly cut down the trees and collect the 1k, or just cancel it, and another one will appear soon enough.

    • @MisuVir
      @MisuVir 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yeah, I didn't see the timer on one contract. A nice juicy $10k wood transport. I rented the equipment and drove to the site, loaded up one log... and my equipment disappeared because the contract expired. So annoying.

    • @joelventola
      @joelventola 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ram89572 That's what it atleast seems like to me, haven't specifically scienced it, but I did run out of time once after letting the contract sit for a day or two before heading straight to the area. I think the typical contract length for wood transport and deadwood is like 2 days so yeah you have probs been fine. Tho for something like planting its probably shorter as you have to plant in the right season.

    My suggestion would be to stick with greenhouses for now. You have a flat area left over from the barn sale, it only takes water, you can focus on highest profiting crops, it only takes water and a bit of time, and it leaves you free to do other jobs. A small sawmill sounds good at first but at the rate it produces it will just be a slog in multiplayer unless you're willing to skip several days per episode. If you use the profits from greenhouse sales to buy equipment that will open up more contracts for you, you'll be on a good road to success. Small productions will pretty much stall you for ages. You'll be waiting on small productions to give you very questionable increases in profit, or none at all, while greenhouses are all profit all the time, even if you pay for water.
    If you want to make jewelry, you start by grinding the stones to gems, and small productions are just compressing dust into stones. Figuratively speaking, of course.

    A small sawmill would be a great idea. Feed it the trees from your land you can go without and once you reached that limit then take on deadwood contracts every other month or so to keep it stocked. Pallet forks for the frontloader should be able to easily load the planks and beams on the car trailer you got.

    Daggerwin don’t give up on this series things take time just like the other survival challenge multiplayer series things didn’t start to take off at first a lot off tree harvesting had to be done to get off the ground
    You and chainsaw are a team and are doing very well come on guys I’m supporting both off you and this series will be successful trust me slow and steady wins the race
    Your doing everything right daggerwin your on point keep targeting the huge trees and get 12 or 15 thousand and you will soon build up a fleet of tractors and machinery and even a lorry
    I absolutely 110% do think that you and chainsaw should get the saw mill and know you have a cultivator focus on the cultivating contracts gain money from them and slowly build up more equipment and then unlock more contracts and you and chainsaw will be on a roll
    Keep going with this new survival challenge multiplayer series on riverbend springs daggerwin your doing alright 👍

    Really enjoying this stuff, but good God, I'm thankful you can't catch Epilepsy, 'cos I think the wood trimming would transmit it! I'm of two minds on the sawmill - it'd get things going in a way, but it's very slow so it might be worth looking into other options, maybe the larger one if you can get enough contract work done? I've been hearing a lot about how good wood chips are this go round, of course that would probably take even more investment that the sawmill and they'd all have to be sold in-bulk at the best time, but that just might be an extra bit of challenge for you two!

    Deadwood is worthless as a balancing factor I think so that you cannot “game the system”. So contracts like to give you more money for worthless products so that you can’t make anything good from failing them. Encourages succeeding. Also I think the expiration times might be getting shorter based on time of day rather than the time you accept them. (Or your day/month/year cycle speed is set too fast - possibly expirations were made for a specific play speed) otherwise the expirations may need work.

    The time limit on a contract should only start when you actually take the contract. I do think there should be a time limit on them, because you could theoretically have a harvesting contract, and just hold off on doing it, and if you hold off long enough, the crop could wither.

    I was confused when you ran out of time for the deadwood contract in the middle of the day because I was under the impression the contract deadlines were a non-issue... However it seems deadwood (and from what I can tell rock removal as well) is in a special category of it's own.. Every other contract is bound to the month you're in. E.g. I play on 2 day months and harvesting, cultivating contracts etc. will - when they become available - have a timer until midnight of the 2nd day. However, I'm now in my game looking at a deadwood contract that expires at 13:00 in the afternoon in the next month..
    For some reason Giants appears to have coded deadwood and rock removal deadlines differently. It sounds like someone went out of their way to code a second way to have deadlines be generated and I cannot fathom why they made this game design decision. It's utterly confusing.

    I find the deadwood contracts so strange, if you sell the dead wood you get like 2k . But when you put it into your own sawmill you get like 10k litres ++ , so by that logic you should get 30k from selling dead wood if sawmills/carpentry are paying 3k for 1k litres..... or am I just been stupid?? 😂

      Deadwood has a massive sell penalty. You are still selling that 10K litres of wood when you sell the deadwood, but it's just not worth much. If you process it first, the game forgets it was deadwood and gives you the base rate.

    you get much more for the trees by cutting them down into straiter peices. I tested it and cut up a elm gave up to 10k. in one piece I dont think it went over 2k on normal difficulty

    I believe you can modify that blue and gray logging trailer to have no crane and an extension.

    If you have your own sawmill, a deadwood contract can be worth 60k

    Try cut down all the trees on deadwood contract before moving them out of the bush? Once all trees are cut then you can clear the wood after it says contract completed? A completed contract stays there until you click collect right?
