Interesting in here if it's worth releasing on Switch for you. I know that you won't be able to share exact numbers, but it would be great to hear ranges.
Awesome!!!!A huge Congrats on the release of your new game 😁🙌🏼🔥❤️Im also a fairly new developer making my first game in blender but I think I've still got a long way to go before consoles release so this video was very informative for me! thankyou!!!and excited for you🙌🏼❤️😁✅!!!
Ha - I initially read this as a comment on his Nintendo port of "docks" (shorthand for "Bridges & Docks"?) but now I see that it was not a slight on Thomas' work but Nintendo's 🤣
This was super interesting. I would love to see more stuff about how to launch a game. All the tutorials tell you how to create a game objects and handle input, but none of them ever really show you or talk about the process of actually launching a game. Oh, and until I got my Steam Deck, I used my Nintendo switch all the time. Now my 10-year-old son uses it mostly. BTW… I really thought Tanks but no Tanks would have been the ideal Switch launch for you. That game seems perfect for playing matches in the living room. It almost reminds me a little bit of a really cool game named Boomerang Fu. When you launch it on the Switch it’s an instabuy for me and my son.
I don't know if you had a bad day (hopefully not!) when recording this or whether you're just showing your personality more, but I love all the random comments and jokes and asides throughout this video. By the way, let me know if you like jokes below.
What's your approach to promotion on Switch? Are you as a dev able to do more with the store/platform beyond creating a great store page? I imagine that it's harder to reach Switch players compared to Steam players who I suspect are more hooked in to what's happening in the hobby.
Regarding your steam release of bridges and docks: Maybe you should use different icons for different achievements. I for one like to see a new and fresh and shiny achievement icon.
I have one question.Do you have a plane when you are going to make another video about your new game that is similar to to bridges and docks but its more about attacking and defending.
My next video is talking about my 3 prototypes (including the island tactics game) and that's where y'all will get to vote on which one I move forward with 👍 I'm hoping to publish it on Monday, but I'm a little behind (so it'll go live at least early next week)
Is that the nintendo switch devkit? I think you're not supposed to show that? I'm asking, because I'm also releasing on Switch soon and want to take pictures of my game running on it
Ps5 is the best, but still has its problems . You can get an Xbox for multiplayer games but lately they have been really bad for gaming in general i wouldn’t recommend anyone buying one. Switch is great as long as Nintendo doesn’t have any reason to sue you.
Congratulations! Huge life achievement unlocked 🙂 I bet childhood Thomas would be blown away by current Thomas!

Yooooo congrats on the switch launch! Picking it up and welcome to the mushroom kingdom!
This is great! I wish more developers shared their experiences working with consoles, and especially the Switch.
Brilliant to hear about the process of porting to switch. I hope that it does well!

Well done Thomas! Great news - I have been hoping we'd hear this update from you before too long.
Congrats and thanks for sharing this! I hate the Nintendo docks personnally but I guess I'll get use to it :)

Congrats! Thats pretty awesome and not boring at all! Feel free to go into even more detail next time 😁
Congrats! This video was very informative. Love it!
That was interesting, I never knew what the porting process is like.
Congrats btw
Congrats! Really enjoyed this video that capitalism bit was great!
As someone that hopes to port to console in the near future, no, not boring at all!
Congrats, Thomas!
programming nerd here, great notes!

Yeah I agree! Lots of this stuff is hard to find info on.
I love playing Boomerang Fu as well! Maybe there will be a TBNT Switch port in the future…
well done getting on switch. I released a game on there too, did better than a steam release, so thats quite good.
Not boring! Very insightful to the publishing processes which otherwise aren’t as well discussed :)

I know you're under NDA, but compare to other platforms and steam, how well has the Nintendo switch port performed?
I published this video right as the game went live so I’m waiting to see 😆
@@ThomasStewartDev Give us updates, I have a feeling it will be your best platform.
There is no contest in the greatest console...
The Virtual Boy obviously.
Congrats 👍🏼 👍🏼

Ah yes, ✨capitalism✨
Anyway, congrats on the release! I think the switch is a great fit for your game😁
Good insights
But wait what was the biggest perf bottleneck you fixed for the switch? I must know! 😆

@ Can’t wait for the video.Keep it going👍

This wasn't boring, it was actually very insightful.
God and LORD Jesus bless you Thomas, and your family. Remember to give the thanks to the LORD for all this time!!

Capitalism ho!
