It's a process I have been waiting for my case to settle. Going on 3 years..... I don't want to keep getting pre settlement funding. I don't know what to do. Hope things move soon since I have two lawsuits
We hear you. It can be frustrating for cases that take longer, especially when pre-settlement funding is involved. Best wishes that your cases get resolved soon!
What do you do when your attorney is avoiding all your phone calls after settlement has been reached , its been two months they got over a half million dollars and I was lead plaintiff in the case , there avoiding me in every way .....
Maybe show up at their office and sit there until your lawyer makes time for you. If that doesn't work, bar complaints are an option but we encourage you to exhaust all efforts to speak with your attorney before taking that route.
You should give a projection of reduction in medical bills to your clients, so they could have a better idea of the Take home amount. Don’t say that it’s not possible.
Agreed but a projection or estimate is not enough. The best practice is to negotiate medical bills before agreeing to a final gross settlement so the client knows the exact amount he or she will receive before agreeing to anything.
With my ivc filter settlement they decided to settle out of court a year and 1 month, it took 4 months to skip over the clients who skipped on the settlement. So should i now get my settlement next month. I have no leins.
My child hve a brain injury by accident ... Case is done now .... curator appointed ... .. question is am I as the mother not going to work with my child money
Great question. Each state has different laws concerning recoveries for minors. Your state's laws will determine who would qualify to act as a fiduciary for your child's recovery until the age of majority. In many states the settlement has to be approved by a Court.
Very helpful thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you!
You bet!

If it is a civil case your law firm is handling and your client is say $2,000 behind on retainer fees. How do you handle that at your law firm?
We don't work off of retainers so we have never been in that situation.
You said you've been waiting for your case to settle,we talking about setteled cases..
