    Going to use these tips to help me on my favorite flow trail. Always looking to improve! Have her on more often because she explains everything very well.

    What's helped me progress is having one, or a few local trails that I ride over and over again. A lot can be learned from riding a wide variety of trails, and that is certainly fun, but once I have a trail completely muscle memorized, I have found that I can unlock another level of speed and laser focus on techniques like popping over rough sections and fully committing to corners. This might seem obvious, but my impulse is to always go on a different ride from the one I went on last time, and do one big loop instead of lapping a trail over and over like a race track.

      Super good info! And I totally know what you mean by the laser focus and speed gained by riding a trail you know. Keep enjoying -Christina

    Incredibly well timed video, I have just built up a new Stumpy which was a huge upgrade in performance, allowing me to carry more speed up to the approach of these doubles. Ben’s tips have helped heaps and I am stoked to try these ones out. Keep ‘em coming!

      Thanks Ryan and glad this landed on your screen! Something for everyone. Just the other day I finally hit a trail double I've been eyeing up for over a year, felt so good to commit and freaking do it! Enjoy the new bike -Christina

    I really like your approach to the triple. Jumping all three may be pretty cool and all, but then you will have way too much speed going into the corner. So rolling the first one then doubling seems smarter to me and you won't have to brake so hard going into the berm thus carrying more speed coming out.

    • @brianwilson6542
      @brianwilson6542 ปีที่แล้ว

      There was even someone in the video that doubled the first 2 and rolled the last one, looked sick but that tiny space between rollers spooked me out and I wasn't about to try it haha I like the smooth runout of the berm option. Cheers! -Christina

      this kinda stuff (tricks of the trade) isn't really talked about as much as it should be - hope to see more PB features like this. Most of the fun I have is scoping out sidehits on trails, away from the main line.....it's a good way to spread the fun

  • @cloudkap

    Of all things it was the "Boost Dealer" bit that hooked me. I think after you learn how to 1) hop/unweight, and 2) pump, -every obstacle (like roots and rocks) becomes an opportunity to gain speed by using that combo.

    These MTB tips are golden, you should host a 5+ part series on pumping speed, most people are unaware you can pump berms and rock lips for speed too.

  • @Coerced
    @Coerced ปีที่แล้ว

    if you have the power, energy and speed in the legs to effectively pump 2 rollers, that will often actually be faster than doubling them. You get 2 slopes to generate speed on rather than 1 (and you don't hit the upslopes if pumping and unweighting effectively) and make less vertical distance in most cases so it's a shorter line too. This does all depend on your jump trajectory and the length / depth of the rollers though.

    Is the best way to gain these points of confidence to have a bike that:
    Has a shallow seat post angle
    Has a limited dropper distance
    Has a 69º slack angle
    Has 21mm internal wheel widths running pre-boost hub widths
    Has a front derailleur which sometimes likes to throw a chain between sprockets
    Is this the best way?
