      No Jamaica has always had this issue. It has gotten worse
      We cant blame other governments when we have our own.
      If we cleaned up the streets we wouldn't be having these issues
      But it's the same old for the past 40 years.
      But no one wants to turn Jamaica into it's TRUE potential
      Jamaica should be the Singapore of the west.
      But we are ALWAYS bogged down with crime

    I live here, and I love my beautiful country, but I will not blame any country for putting out a caution for their citizens visiting our shores. We have a crime problem. We cannot deny that.
    This is a complex and deep-rooted issue that SOE's cannot solve. Bandaid-ing the symptoms of a wound is a nonstarter. Treat the cause of the disease! We MUST go back to the drawing board, research strategies that work and implement comprehensive solutions!

    • @kattahb4103

    • @mandarkastronomonov2962
      @mandarkastronomonov2962 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The root of the problem is something no one wants to address. Jamaica has a family problem. Nine out of ten children born in Jamaica are out of wedlock. The breakdown of the family has resulted in many children being unwanted and uncared for and people fail to realize the children who have been marginalized will grow to be adults one day who are without compassion and feeling. This is what we are seeing now.
      As long as we use techno-speak and semantics and do not address the real root of the issue, we will only get worse, not better.

      How dare you! Get off your high 🐎 horse. Your attitudes is a blatant disregard for the lives of innocent Jamaican,and or Jamaicans that have been killed needlessly. You are so playing down the fact that Jamaica is one of the most dangerous countries in the world, where crime is concerned.
      Not because u have left Jamaica years and still going bk and forth safely doesn't negate the fact that Jamaica is, if I may say macabre and stinks of blood, marrow and death.
      How can u sit there so careless with the reality that Jamaica's homicide rate is preposterously insane. top 6th in the world and it's interesting to note that all the other 5 countries that are above Jamaica their population is atleast three time that of Jamaica or more. In sane ppls eyes Jamaica worst. Think of Texas with a population of 30,000,000. their homicide rate 2/3 yrs ago was just shy of 2000, Jamaica with a population of 3M around the same time recorded over 1400 homicide.
      Have u ever sit in your easy chair and got a heart wrenching call saying they killed ur father,mother ,bro ,sis or some other relatives? No.
      2/3 weeks after they killed a nxt family member? No.
      Have you known any family that u went to school with their kids and gunman killed ,the brothers, one after the other, and then killed the mother 9 shots to the head? No. Cause u live in Paradise or La La Land to say the least.
      Have u ever seen or heard of a house full of family crying uncontrollable for their loved one that has been gunned down? No, you haven't. Every murder In Jamaica is a poignant reminder to atleast one person how their friend, family, friend of their friend even their enemy were killed.
      When ur in Jamaica ur far away high and lifted up, way and above crime ; you do your shopping in Manor pk, liguanea Sovereign or in Beverly Hills.
      U can even get ur fruits delivered at your door.
      Have u ever stop to think about the poor ppl in areas you wouldn't even googles on your phone let alone to go there; ppl who live in areas where murder is at their doorstep every day or two weeks; have u met some real Jamaican ppl who pray, fast and cry out to God to protect their love ones on the road cause they know the country is dangerously dangerous.
      You should be ashamed of yourself trying to downplay the uncontrollable murder rate in Jamaica, and that u go and it's ok ,so if someone do like u do they would be ok. Woman god is on your side, can u say the same for others?
      Well I have news for you a lot of ppl went to Jamaica and don't make it bk to their place of comfort. You should count it all joy when u went to Jamaica and leave in one piece, sadly loads didn't make it back not just this year or last year but for the last 15 yrs.
      You are in no position to speak how dangerous or safe Jamaica actually is.
      Have u ever seen a random person crying and u feel as if you wanna cry too ,not knowing what they going through but you know u just feel a little bit of their pain, plight or awkward situation that they are facing.
      Crime is everywhere but we cannot give that a thumbs up; we don't want crime/homicide near us or in our country .
      Anyone wants to hiss their teeth and say choo crime is everywhere, in the same vein they should say if my son is a dunce bat it's ok, because my neighbour's son is also a dunce bat.

      "Criminals are everywhere not Jamaica alone". I really can't stand to hear this comment. Yes, I agree totally but that doesn't eliminate the issues we are having as a nation. Jamaica's crime issue has increased tremendously in the last decade. I grew up in Jamaica and moved back in the 2010s only to leave once again. I go once or twice a year, and before Covid, I'd take taxis everywhere. Now, I rent a car every time. It is just not safe anymore. Good luck to you.

    Haha! Tell that to the Canadian Prime Minister who is here enjoying his winter vacation with his family!😄I guess he doesn't take the Canadian travel advisory that seriously. Please stop obsessing about these travel advisories, you are traumatizing the country. Crime is on the increase everywhere, including Canada. The world is heading into a difficult time, homelessness and rampant crime is on the increase even in the United States. Let's spend less of our time wringing our hands and more time figuring out how to protect ourselves from criminals. Why doesn't the media do investigative journalism into how communities protect criminals? Or at least something useful we can actually act on instead of just screaming about crime all day...

    • @alicebrackett8675
      @alicebrackett8675 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @feonasmith9226
      @feonasmith9226 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alicebrackett8675 They don't need to, we're doing a great job of trying to destroy the country's reputation all by ourselves. The media pushes the crime stories non-stop because it's easy, they're lazy (can't bother with real journalism) and it sells. The media behaves differently in other countries. For example, recently in Toronto a guy went to a home owners association meeting and killed all but one person because he had some long running disagreement with them. It was covered in the news like a crazy, angry person breaking psychologically and the focus shifted to sympathy for the families of the victims. I couldn't help but think how that would be covered in Jamaica. It would be on the news for weeks as an example of crime out of control and we would see interviews of bawling and screaming relatives in the peak of their anguish and despair. The media will do anything to get viewership, even if the way they present the news traumatizes and wrecks the country emotionally.
      We behave like if we scream loud enough, crime will automatically fix itself. We've been doing that for decades and it hasn't worked, yet somehow we feel if we keep doing the same thing over and over again, one day it will magically work.

    • @janeiseedwards1076
      @janeiseedwards1076 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some of these youths are too long eye and want things quick. Even if you pay for them to go to school they are not going...that will take too long to see money...plus too much hard work. I have young relatives in Jamaica and they work hard and avoid trouble. I live in Canada and it's the same here...programs are there but some of these youths prefer the get rich fast and hype life...these youths mentality have to change

    while tourists are being pampered in those resorts, there are Jamaicans in close proximity living in squalor and not benefitting from the wealth that the island generates...people need to start addressing the root of the crime problem.

    Canada 🇨🇦 is a country of law abiders , they are the peace keepers of the world. I do not blame them for cautioning their citizens about being careful when travelling to Jamaica 🇯🇲. This country is corrupt to it’s core and full of criminals that are out of control. The govt. is unable to, or unwilling to reign in these monsters. I am cautioned every time I leave Canada 🇨🇦 for Jamaica to be careful and to be vigilant, it is sad hearing this, but with the situation in the country , I agree with Canada.

      "Everytime you live Canada to travel to Jamaica?" ... That seems as though you visit pretty often despite the several warnings issued by your PM about this "ungodly-lawless-crime-infested country"... Why aren't you deterred? Or could it be that it's not as bad as it in the media?

    Wait... Am I living a bubble or completely sheltered from "all these extremely high crime acts" I hear about crimes on the news yes, like crimes of passion and internal gang related crimes but shoot outs so regularly to the point where passersby have to be running for they're lives and getting hit by wild fire every other week to the extreme point where we need SOEs and advisories from country outside Jamaica I don't get it...
