"Ever Dream" Wacken 2013 Official Live if you like it beautiful and powerful, I especially like this one because of Floor and Marko together on vocals. If you like something heavier then "Ghost River" or "Romanticide", both in Wacken 2013. On these two Floor and Marko again complementing each other amazingly.

That being said, we have every intention of hitting this whole concert, so it won't be long before we hit "Ever Dream" as well, as that's another that keeps popping up, along with "Ghost River". @@mattlexireactions4313 Ever Dream is more of a high energy metal 'Disney' (your words :) type of song, i'm certain your daughter will like that. I guess Weak fantasy (Tampare or Wembley) also falls somewhat in that category. Romanticide and Ghost River are good symphonic metal songs, just like the rest of the Wacken show. But in the end it's all subjective of course.
If Lexi applauds Marko in this, I can't wait to see her reaction to his solo vocals in "High Hopes" (Pink Floyd tribute) from End of An Era, live!.. and then "The Islander" live @ Tampere! Good job, Dad!

Oh, don't get me wrong, it's great! I was just waiting for something huge to come, and it didn't. In my mind I was like "ok... we're building to something epic... here it comes..." and the song ended! That's my fault after hearing so many songs with breakdowns that lead to huge moments. It's still a great song! :)

Epica make a great (epic) music and it's another big name in symphonic metal alongside Nightwish. It's usually heavier than Nightwish, but they have a few wonderful ballads, like Tides of Time: th-cam.com/video/sn765tJuaoE/w-d-xo.html Mark Jansen (guitar, growls) is an amazing songwriter/composer, in my opinion he's on par with Tuomas Holopainen from Nightwish. Mark Jansen was in a band After Forever where Floor Jansen was a singer (they are not related, just namesakes). Mark wanted to do music with more classical/orchestral sound which was met with some disagreement from other members of After Forever and eventually he left the band and formed Epica (named Sahara Dust at the beginning). Floor also formed her own band Revamp. Epica's lead female soprano, Simone Simons, was Mark's girlfriend at the time, so he brought her in and she stayed with the band till today. Good for us :) She has a beautiful voice and she's a beautiful woman too. I'm glad she also uses operatic vocals here and there. I totally love it!

We're just starting our Nightwish journey, and so far it's been great! We've only heard Floor yet, but at some point we're going to listen to the others and see what their sound is like.

I wasn't really complaining so to speak. After 35+ years listening to metal, there's a structure you get used to and as you get more and more accustomed to it you start to feel when the Chorus is coming, when a bridge is coming, when a breakdown is coming, etc. So when they hit the breakdown, I was expecting it to blast off again once that section finished. When it just ended, it went against everything I've gotten used to over the decades, so I was confused more than anything. I'm not saying it's a bad song, at all. It was just an unexpected and abrupt ending in my opinion. But thank you for the link to the original! I appreciate it! :)
@@mattlexireactions4313 What I meant to say that you correctly noticed that something is missing. In the complete version there are spoken parts which makes better sense in an album which is connected to their movie "Imaginaerum" but perhaps not so much as in the live show.

I want to, but the space we have is very limited. We can only squeeze together so much before we're in each other's laps! LOL But we got a new camera in the mail on Friday, and it may change some things as it has a wider frame for us and is 1080p HD at least. Hopefully that will allow us a bit more room and relaxes us enough not to have to scrunch together so much.

I want to, but the space we have is very limited. We can only squeeze together so much before we're in each other's laps! LOL
But we got a new camera in the mail on Friday, and it may change some things as it has a wider frame for us and is 1080p HD at least. Hopefully that will allow us a bit more room and relaxes us enough not to have to scrunch together so much.
