Well done, Jack! Thanks for putting me onto the razor many months ago. The 1.20 to me had a noticeably more blade feel, but the clamping felt just as good, so it was still very smooth as you’d imagine.
and you been hyping it since then lol, so I can say the same. Thanks for turning me onto the BLUTT. Concur with your experience with the 1.20. All the best to you gentlemen.
Being swiss-made is a big thing, I'm not familiar with any other safety razors that have been made there. They've owned the watch space for many years so it's interesting why more manufacturers haven't dipped their toes in making razors
Always on the lookout for the one de that will work for me. For now only slants have worked for me. But if this has the best edge control...a shame the 1.20 is out of stock.
@Seth Collins Do you mind me asking which slant razors you're using? I've tried the razorock stealth slant (the aluminum one) and although it has no blade feel at all and allows me to buff all day, I really wish it was more efficient (without adding to the blade feel)
I just purchased the .99 Blutt a few days ago, thanks for the review! I have a lot of tools from Switzerland named Pb Swiss and the quality is just outstanding so I’m curious if the Blutt will be the same. I shave with straights 90% of the time but I always have 2 or 3 de razors on hand for my quicker shaves ❤️
Enjoy! That's exactly how I do it at this point. I shave with straights on the daily but keep a few DE's around for when I need to just get out of the house.
Try the all new Karve Overlander razor. I have shaved and at some point owned Timeless, Wolfman, Carbon, H&S, Blackland, ATT, Rocnel, and many other razors. Like the Karve Overlander there's no other...so smooth and very efficient.
Pretty sure some stainless steels are easier to work with. They probably used the more malleable one for the part of the razor that needed to be tooled the most
Nice review….. I’d be interested to know if you have also tried the Henson medium or aggressive razors? If so how would you compare this razor to those?
@@TheVirtualGroomroom I've heard many say that it's the best also. It does really look like a fantastic razor. I guess it's the Rolex or even the Patek Phillipe of razors so to speak. When all of my 3 girls get out of Uni I'll consider buying one. 🍻
This razor is getting some fantastic reviews. Being that I preferred the 'mild' baseplate on the Apollo Light, which bladegap would you recommend for the Blutt? Also, how would you compare the two overall? Cheers Jack.
Great question. I think the .99 would most compare to the mild baseplate on the Apollo - this is noticeably lighter than the Apollo and has better blade clamping. I would say that you're likely sacrificing a little efficiency though.
Thanks for your impressions. Can you immediately shave against the grain with the .99 plate (like the .86)? Does the .99 plate give a longer lasting shave than the .86 plate?
@@TheVirtualGroomroom so do you tho, equal pillars of the community. Idk what the point of this comment thread is. Ken's opinion is esteemed, but if Jack had come around and derided this razor than the situation would become more complex and the razor would not be so perfect after all. If all it took was one review for you to be sold on this razor than truly you are doing yourself a disservice as a consumer.

It's one of the best dude, easily.

Also my favourite DE, I love the 1.20 plate and the best thing for me: it's made in Switzerland 🇨🇭

Good review Jack! I got to use the Blut Razor in a pass around and it's phenomenal. I agree with basically everything you said.
Cheers!
Thanks Lyle. This is a great one for sure.
Blutt is awesome I only have the 0.99 plate. I have not tried the other plates yet .
Give them a go! Very versatile.
Phenomenal Razor Raza I love it 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I'm very lucky to have one BR-1, wonderful🔝

Well reviewed, Jack mate.
Thanks, Lee!
Nice review Jack - thats some positive feedback!
It really is excellent. I'm happy they're amping up production.

@@TheVirtualGroomroom yea I got lucky and ordered soon enough
Jack another amazing razor review keep them coming thank you
That's really nice of you Louis!

316 is the least workable. It's slightly harder and rougher on tooling.
@@TheVirtualGroomroom ah, I have no idea then 😅
@@sethcollins5536 more than likely a correct assumption, and likely why 303 is employed for the BR-1’s head.
I like this razor as well it says almost everything about Swiss.
It is very Swiss in design!

Jack, thanks for this. How would you say this compares to the Feather AS-D2?
The Blutt is as good as my King C Gillette with a feather blade in it. The blutt is a fantastic razor!
Lol, thanks Peter

Sold out more or less after you and Ken's videos 😅
Crazy.

I don't find a difference in how long each of the shaves last.
How does this razor compare to the Tatara (the non-adjustable)?
Good question! Which Tatara? The Masamune or Nodachi?
@@TheVirtualGroomroom Whichever is the closest for efficiency/smoothness? Masamune or a hybrid I guess. Thanks
Wolfman is not a cent cheaper than 500$ US. THAT is expensive! 😜
Nice razor I know already…due to Ken. 😏
Still interested in your thoughts…
