Bangladesh separated from Pakistan, not India. Secondly, Pakistan since its inception is an Islamic Republic, it was infact the Muslim League and its helm - Jinnah who never wanted to lead a secular state. India hasn't been more secular than before. It is in fact the marginalised communities including Muslims who have benefitted equally, if not more than the so called "hindu majority", a term which is often referred to as by the Western ideologists and many separatists. Therefore, to say that "India never wanted to remain secular" is an misinformed statement, and must be labelled an opinion made either in without much thought or with a preset bias.
