- Fishing Loch Raven Reservoir for Pickerel and Bass during the Free fishing days in Maryland with my brother and we SLAYED. we got so many fish even though it was post spawn. The bass was sluggish due to post spawn, but we landed a few including the elusive smallmouth bass! Primarily caught crappies and pickerels. it seems as the pickerels rule the reservoir that day!

raWr Fishing the longest fishing videos are the ones where you go to one spot and your fishing for trout so you have a snack for the night but you end up there for 4 hours in 90 degree heat watching the sunfish spawn and catching nothing the whole day until the end when a giant pickerel eats your powerbait as your reeling it in then pops off the hook. Afterwards i caught a different pickerel or the same one with a black roostertail 1/8 oz. he was about 5 lbs 28-30 inches long. I was so excited. I was casting out within 20 feet and it took 2 minuets to reel him in.

You seem like a very experienced fisherman so the question is.. why dont u invest in fish grippers for toothy fish that ur using treble hooks for? Literally only 11 dollars at bass pro.
I left it at home, likely in my kayak crate. I dont live in Maryland and these waters are like new to me. Didn't expect pickerel galore. Thx for watching

that's what Loch Raven rents out. Works okay, wish the batteries lasted longer and the motor is faster.
raWr Fishing yea i know the past week i have been fishing loch raven and the part where it flows into gunpowder just up the road a little more and haven’t caught anything
i see, hmm i have never fished there late in the season, i assume they are a bit deeper and away from any shoreline due to the abundant of weeds and oxygen, but they are seeking cooler waters. who knows, maybe a few more weeks it'll be feeding galore for the fall run? i don't know when they stop renting boats out, i usually just come during the free fishing days since i am out of state LOL
