Ordered the Elemis Cleansing Balm and the night cream just because you were so excited recommending them. They are absolutely fantastic and you did not exaggerate about the WONDERFUL scent. It’s been a while since a new (to me) product impressed me this much. Thank you!
3 things: 1) I find it bizarre and misleading when people do endorsements for products they clearly DO NOT use and are simply getting paid to “use” them. Your clarity and transparency is KEY. 2) I have said this for years, but it feels so affirming to hear another voice (in more or less words) speak out against buzz words like “anti-aging” and “youth serum.” You rock. 3) It makes me sad to see the amount of non-essential, cosmetic operations/fillers/etc. that people are doing (and starting doing it younger and younger). The older we get, most people adopt a “less is more” mentality, so the whole “everything and the kitchen sink” way to remain “young looking” needs to be dismantled. Videos like yours really make great headway, especially for people of my generation as we start to approach our forties. Xoxo
To wash my face i am an "Ivory Girl", I grew up with it and still use it. People cringe when I mentioned I wash with soap, it works for me. I do you a face moisturizer with sunscreen and I am don't wear makeup.
Just to know, Ivory is particularly clean rinsing. I'm a scientist and we used to make dilute forms of the soap to clean glassware. I use it knowing it will leave nothing behind, but that does include some of my own natural protective oils it will also clean away. So I moisturize afterwards. Ivory is good soap
I’ve been using Clinique for makeup and skin care for years since I have sensitive skin. It wasn’t until a facial I had on the Disney Wonder and have been using it ever since. The Pro-Collagen Marine products are amazing and you don’t need much, so yes it’s expensive but they’re amazing products that last a while. The cleansing balm is great for days when you have been wearing makeup or out in the sun. I like to use extra water and get it to lather up to help clean.
Thanks for the informative skin care video. I adore the Laura Mercier tinted SPF foundation. Keeping one’s face protected from the sun is a great step to healthier skin. Happy weekend to you!
I find that any lip balms or lotions containing coconut oil end up drying my skin out even more. I'll definitely give the Aquaphor Lip Repair Stick a try since it doesn't contain any.
My mom taught me to use cotton gloves with hand cream at night too. A couple of years ago, I got a bag of low cut socks at Wal Mart and used them with healing cream on my hands and feet. They work great. Since they are not too pricy, I just throw them away when they get too greasy to clean.
I use these Elemis products I’m in the uk and I buy it at the outlet village. It’s so wonderful on my skin. I’m in my 40s. I agree with you about the scent. Especially the balm it’s like you’re own private day spa
I'm a simple gal when it comes to skincare. But lately I have found my face needing more attention as I go through peri-menopause. And don't get me started on my hands in winter! Thanks for the helpful vid. Have a great night!
I used Oil of Olay products for almost 20 years and only started using more expensive things the last couple of years and it makes a really big difference, Jill. I was skeptical but I've really seen a difference.
Thank you for doing this video! I will be 43 this year and really want to start a good skincare routine. I agree about the lip balms out there, most I’ve tried weirdly do make my lips feel more dry afterward! I will me getting some of these for sure! 😊
I got hooked on Elemis from the Disney cruise spa as well! I love all of their stuff. I also have eczema. I’m going to try the Aquaphor lip recommendation. Thank you!
I purchased the advent calendar from ELEMIS and it was so so. The pro-collagen line didnt do it for me and the scent wasn’t my favorite i think mainly because its strong and would 100% trigger a migraine BUT the superfood line was much better for me. The scents are more "natural" light and i enjoyed those products as well as the dynamic line.
Thank you so much for sharing! The pandemic made me want to develop a better skin care routine, mainly due to masks. I appreciate you sharing what you use!!! ❤ I love “empties” videos. If you did more of these, that would be so entertaining!
Love this! Great tips, Jen. I'm going to look into the O'Keefe's for my poor grandbaby's eczema cheeks. I'd love to get rid of the foundation coverage, but have some broken capillaries on my cheeks and chest. I think those can actually be easily removed with lasers. Not down for the fake face fillers, though.
Love this video! It’s so true, genetics are the key but we can always help or hurt what will come naturally. Also…SAME on those housewives reunions. It’s not ok.
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge agreed! They are stunning and don’t need the stage makeup but it’s part of a certain culture I think. Look better in photos than in person/in 4k. Personally, I would rather look good in person.
Me too, Jen, no foundation for me; even pantyhose triggers claustrophobia. My nighttime moisturizer is oil based, and like you my skin quickly absorbs it. Didn't know it was needed. It's also used on my chest area. Being post menopause requires more diligent skin care👍
I absolutely agree that good genes is the biggest component of good skincare but not just (or mainly) the gene of good skin, specifically of good bone and muscle facial structure. There are some people that have a facial anatomy that moves and naturally wrinkles with basic movements like chewing, talking or lifting eyebrows. This, in the long run leads to wrinkles in certain areas of the skin and no amount of creams or treatments will remove that (well, maybe Botox). And other facial structures just aren’t as “expressive” in their natural movements. That’s not to say they don’t have an animated face, just that muscle or fat deposits or bone structure helps skin in certain areas of the face don’t move. Skincare is so changing depending on your environment and hormones and stage of life, etc. your skincare needs to evolve with your life because of your age and diet and weather conditions. But facial anatomy….that will not change as much so accept where your face is naturally creasing. As for skincare, my mom is a junkie and has used creams and oils since she was a child so, naturally, she got me into lotions and potions as a teenager. I love my creams and serums and I’m really getting into the tools of rollers and cooling orbs and now I want electrostimulators for facial muscles. I haven’t gotten into dermaneedling yet but I turned my mom onto it a few years ago and she loves it now. I am also now starting with retinA and retinol for cell turnover. My morning skincare is semi-minimal (per my standards) but my nighttime routine…if I have make-up on I like to triple cleanse and then I start my 7 serum, 1 night cream and Gua-sh my face. My 20 minute routine is so relaxing. I then try to remember to lather my body with body butter (almost like basing a Turkey) but I forget some days. I’m trying to remember now to use reaffirming creams on my girls (I’m large cheated so stretch marks is a real thing) and my tummy area where, due to child birth and fluctuating weight, I also have stretch marks.

Thank You this so good to know. Besides growing up it, my grandmother did a pen and ink add for them.
You sold me on the Elemis cleansing balm!! Thank youuuu!
Game changer! So glad you love it!

Heck yes Working Hands! That was a lifesaver when I worked in a kitchen. And your office is looking great after the redo!
Thank you so much, Lauren! I'm actually enjoying working in here again!

This exactly. I feel like it’s self care and it’s becoming really important to me!
Thank you for this. I tried Elemis on a cruise too, but couldn’t afford it long term. I will buy the cleansing balm and will try some of the others.
Loved this so much! We recently switch to a daily face moisturizer and with SPF, especially since we moved and it’s helped so much!

Amen to the claustrophobic feeling when wearing foundation. I'm the same way!
I’ve always been that way! Glad I’m not alone

Love the smell of that green oil!! Been using it a year too

Skin care is important. I even use products. ❤️😘
You should!! Scott does too!
Very good tips! Need to start a better skin care routine!
Lisa it’s really helpful and I’ve really noticed a difference since I started being more intentional.
Thanks for sharing. I was wondering what eye cream you use?
I don’t use eye cream and never have.
Just curious, do you use the tinted moisturizer under the sunscreen (like a moisturizer), or after the sunscreen (like makeup)?
After the sunscreen. Great question!
Great video! Do you know where the little case is from?
I bought it at Target years ago I don’t think they make that style anymore?
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge thank you! I’m going to check out the Elemis products

Hope you are okay in Georgia 🍑 right now 🙌🍀🙏
Doesn’t sound crazy to me Jen! I find foundation very suffocating
Right?!?! I know they say formulas have changed and whatever but I'm still out on all that.
It’s very windy today 😂😁
I keep telling myself I should take better care of my skin and then I don’t…
I have to admit if I didn’t have to look at my skin for hours when I edit I might not realize the difference but it’s a thing.
