GnR are the definition of 'rock stars'. Singer = Axl Rose. An incredible singer, though he lost his wasy for a while. Guitar = Slash. Literal guitar god. Bang on about it being about the city / concrete jungle. Though not just any concrete jungle, but specifically people going to LA to chase their dreams and ending up being chewed up and spat our by the lifestyle. Incredible band. Keep listening. You'll love it
"He's talking about the concrete jungle, right?" Finally. You were the first guy who got the meaning of the lyrics correctly among the react channels I watch.
The guy in the top hat is revered as one of the best guitarists of all time, SLASH first came to fame as one fifth of Guns N' Roses, where he created the timeless guitar riffs to #1 hits “Sweet Child o' Mine” and “Welcome To The Jungle,” amongst others. (These are not my words, google said it) - So you realize that you have to listen to “Sweet Child o' Mine” next. You maybe know their song "You Could Be Mine" - it was on the soundtrack for Terminator 2: Judgement day. 😄 love your channel 💙
I'm a HUGE fan of GnR, but come on, Slash is not revered as one of the best of all time. Eddie Van Halen in the grave would play circles around Slash as would many others. Rolling Stone doesn't even put Slash in the Top 100 of all time. Axl on the other hand has a higher vocal range than virtually every big name singer including people like Mariah Carey. Cheers!
@@erinhansen2110 I did say that the text/explanation is not mine, I just copied it, so those are not my words. I don't think he is the best either, it was just fastest for me to explain to Teddy who he is (or how some people see the guy in the top hat) 😊 have a great day
@erinhansen2110 he absolutely is one of the best of all time, how is that even a debate? Is he technically anywhere near the level of lots of other guitarists? Absolutely not but Melody, emotion, sheer number of amazing solos and riffs he is up there with anyone. Ps the Rolling stone list was horrific, they had George Harrison above Stevie ray Vaughan and Dave gilmour in the original top 100. Then in the revised top 250 list, they had Pj Harvey and Jack white well above Joe Satriani and Mark knopfler lol
Guns N' Roses came up in the "hair band/metal" era, but were cooler and harder than some of those bands. I still remember the first time I saw this video, in my Dad's living room (no cable TV at mom's house where I lived) and just being mesmerized. Like, "WHO is this?!" 1987, MTV. Lead singer Axl Rose didn't really "poof" his hair up after this video, thank God! Guitarist Slash in his top hat is the coolest. They rock so hard in their concert montage video for "Paradise City" and are at Wembley!
You like those noises? Try “Rocket Queen” the noises are real ( if you know what I mean 😂) Glad you are checking out some of these older tunes, there are some absolutely legendary ones out there!
The chap in the top hat is 'Slash' who would continue to wear the hat and shades for every gig and video he was in for decades - to this day... He really likes the hat. To see some of his best guitar work 'November Rain' is a good choice. To hear another banger of theirs 'paradise city' or 'you could be mine' are big hits.
I was a huge fan of GunsNRoses when I was in high school, the frontman is Axl Rose, and the guitar player with the hat is called Slash, literally a legend. I suggest you to listen to the godfather theme played on guitar by Slash, it will give you chills. And honestly all GNR songs are amazing, their live performances from the 90’ where something else! Great reaction!
Axl Rose - Singer - one of the most iconic frontmen ever.....Split opinion right down the middle - you either love him or hate him but the guy was a hell of a performer. The guy in the top hat is Slash - probably one of the most iconic guitarists ever. Slash and Axl were known as the toxic twins at one point...along with the rest of the band they epitomised rock and roll decadence. Welcome to the Jungle is the intro track from the debut Album - Appetite for Destruction - one of the biggest selling debut albums ever iirc. People either love or hate Guns and Roses. I saw them live at 16 years old at Wembley Stadium August 1991 - 80000 people and it was amazing. The band went on to do another 2 albums, Lies and Use your Illusions 1 and 2 (a double album released at the same time)....after which they split where all the members went their seperate ways while Axl continued Guns and Roses with various other drummers, bassists and guitarists. They just werent the same. Axl became a recluse at one point and I believe underwent a lot of therapy for a lot of childhood trauma (he was known for being violent, outspoken and explosive personality caused by the childhood traumas). Other similar bands: Def Leppard (Brits - you should know them!), Ratt, Poison (Bret Michaels you might know) Other highly recommended GNR Songs: Sweet Child O' Mine, Paradise City, Get In The Ring (Diss track - never was popular but sure is fun), Patience, November Rain
Love your lively reactions. Their huge hit ''Sweet Child O Mine'' Official version is another banger. Last time I checked the video had 1.7 billion views. It's a masterpiece!
If you liked G&R, you’ll probably enjoy listening to Van Halen and Aerosmith from around that same era (late 80’s?)… Similar to G&R in many ways. Other G&R songs I’ve always loved would be “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”, “Paradise City” and “Sweet Child of Mine”.
Its like you never actually heard people working hard and get good at playing instruments and singing. Its actually possible to do this without a computer you know 😮
great reaction mate, i strongly suggest you react to november rain by guns n roses (must be the video version) its about the best song you will ever hear
"Who's the guy in the top hat?" That would be Slash. This song almost never made it on MTV. GNR was almost shut down before it began. That would have been a collossal tragedy.
Being a rap fan you'll probably quite like GnR, there's a fair bit of crossover. Axl sometimes used flows that aren't common in rock that are borderline rap, the subjects of the songs are similar to rap songs, they were brutally honest and they were badass. There's a reason why NWA almost did a few shows with them.
Another hair band: Skid Row. Songs to hear from them "18 and Life", "Youth Gone Wild", and my personal favorite "Monkey Business" All hard jams that I'm sure you'd enjoy.
@@TeddyGreyOS definitely old school vibes.. there is also the Wilson sisters in a band called Heart.. Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac.. quite a few gals that rock from this time in history

Guns n Roses Appetite for destruction is the Best selling debut album of all time. You could honestly react to every song on that album. Every one is a banger
This song changed my life. It was 7th grade I played 3 sports, I was in the weight room working out and this song came on the radio. I quit all my sports, bought a guitar and amp and played music ever since!

It’s crazy that a random dude is responsible for one of the greatest lines in history.
According to Axl Rose the line “Welcome to the Jungle” what some guy told him when he first stepped off the bus after he got to LA from Indiana.
Yes the concrete jungle also society in general, it's as relevant today as then.
Why is no one mentioning the Marley song? Concrete Jungle is a Marley staple.
Really? Who does get it? Maybe they don't listen to the lyrics
