Thank you SO much for pointing out how hard it is to sing that lightly and with such control. I have heard a lot of criticism of Billie about how she just “whispers” and how she doesn’t really sing. IMO, yes she sings light and airy, BUT that takes a lot of talent to maintain the control and support, especially with those higher notes. 🙏🏻
While I personally *love* Billie's voice (I've been a fan since I first heard of her in 2017), I think the people who are criticizing her voice are missing the whole point of Billie and Finneas. What makes them special are their abilities in writing *and* producing music that is interesting and clever and nuanced. Few other of the very popular artists contribute that much to their finished product. And even those who *do*? ...well...it's not often that I am this impressed by the lyrics of music that has made it mainstream.
I absolutely agree. I have been following their music for a few years now as well and there’s a definite uniqueness that you just don’t see much of anymore in mainstream media.
She didn't think she could belt...but after this, she was like omg did you hear that belt and soooo proud of herself as she should be!!! The guy on guitar is Johnny Mars from the Smith's
I swear the belt made my heart drop and like I could barely breathe after that( i'm fine ) because that was just amazing- Billie surprises me every time I hear her.
I love how at the brit awards they didnt play bad guy but they played everything I wnated wich you should totally check it out its amazing and I also love you you kept saying Finneas and not "Billies brother" like most people
Excellent breakdown. Love your energy. To anyone reading this Billie is getting hated online to where she has said she quits social media. Show love online. If nothing nice to say, say nothing #endhateculture2020
@@Tara........ me either. It must be simple ignorance or fear. Finneas is so right when he says the world doesn't deserve her. But I'm glad to see she has such a close family to help protect her. It's just frustrating that she had few interviews where she was happy for the first time and people couldn't let her just be happy.
Fun fact about Billie: recently, she donated signed t-shirts to my hometown's school district in Ohio to help raise money to pass a levy! (The levy involved funding activities such as proms, choirs, bands, sports, etc.) I've been out of school for a few years now, but it felt pretty cool for my district to be recognized by her! Also, amazing video as ever, David!
This was a great reaction video and really informative. I know nothing about music, but loved how you explained what was going on in simple terms. Fabulous.... Liked and subscribed.
I love Billie Eilish. Her voice is unique and recognizable. For vocalists under the age of 20, very few female vocalists have unique recognizable voices. Diana Akuninova is another. Now I’m going to treat all you Billie Eilish fans around the world to a vocalist who passed away recently but in my generation ( 1960s ... I’m 74 years old) had a small but worldwide cult following and I consider her the “ Billie Eilish of the 1960s.” Her name Morgana King with a celestial heavenly ethereal voice, unique and mesmerizing. Just like Billie. When a song by her came over the radio, ( today Spotify , TH-cam , etc) within the first 30 seconds ( Like Billie Eilish today) you KNEW it was Morgana King and you stopped whatever you were doing to listen. Frank Sinatra called her the best female vocalist he ever heard. If I may so bold as to suggest you listen ( when you have a few moments) to the following 4 songs that will silence your mind and open the floodgate of your heart. 2 were created and posted by a “ Morgana fan” with remarkable imagery which enhanced the emotional impact!! And hope you add them to your playlist so that others may enjoy. Please TH-cam “ Morgana King Happy Birthday 2017” ( 4:26 in duration). The song is called “ desert hush/I am a leaf” please be sure to click the 4:26 one ( the one with a photo of her with lyrics) and NOT the 4:25 or any of the others. “ Morgana King Prelude to a kiss” ( 3:49 duration) “Morgana King Lazy Afternoon” ) 3:48 duration with hauntingly beautiful imagery that enhances the already emotionally impactful Morgana rendition. And finally one more that is to this day her signature song about a lover that promised to return but never did. “ Morgana King sings a taste of honey” ( 5:17 duration). So pleased that the younger generation who I send these songs to are amazed and profusely thank me for turning them on to the “ Billie Eilish of the 1960s” Again, if you love Billie , please take a few moments out of your day to listen to Morgana. Her emotionally impactful voice will transport you to another world. I promise. R.I.P. Morgana King
I think you wanna check out her cover of Michael Jackson Bad It's the beltiest I've seen her. Also she opens up more on "wish you were gay" Scats on "my boy" And she isnt as whispery on "bellyache"
I was casually watching reactions to Billie Eilish and when "hey I know that face!" and subscribed. Anyway, hi David! Long time follower of Jaclyn, pretty much from the beginning. I'm late to the party but congrats to you both!
So if she does what you say and belt they will give her MORE Grammys. I will wait and follow her choices and not those that want her to do an Adele imitation
Not to come across as a predatory gay, but I think I watched you and your reactions the whole time and glanced down at billie only a few times (granted I’ve watched the actual video of her performance bunch of times)... but You are a cutie 🤩 can’t wait to hear your cover!
This is the biggest note she’s hit, but if you want to see more of her technical ability, check out this live performance of Copycat from when she was 16: th-cam.com/video/Kr0vuvEyrtE/w-d-xo.html I think she’s losing her range a bit, probably from singing so many shows. Her style was developed at home, sitting on a bed or at a piano, not on stage with a gazillion fans screaming at her. I hope she doesn’t develop polyps. Such a cool, unique sound. Plus she considers herself primarily a visual artist. So talented!
As Bond themes go, it's a drip. They used to be so good. Not her fault, but seriously. I miss my View To A Kill, Live and Let Die, Goldfinger, The Spy Who Loved Me, Goldeneye... even Skyfall.
Hey guys, check out my solo electric cover here: th-cam.com/video/U5Ljr48Mu98/w-d-xo.html
Yes i do we love you
David my recommendation would be “When The Party’s Over” -Billie’s vocals are stunning on that song

Why does she need to belt though I am sure she can? Big “belty” voices are the norm controlled subtle voices are more unique.
The belt makes the build up of this song pay off so much better. Plus, belting just sounds awesome (at least to me).
Omg he looks like if dan and phil had a baby
React to billie eilish end of the world cover
You should check out Six Feet Under- there is a Nylon episode that has it on here.. girl belts..
Can I use a clip from this for a project?
