Both rivers have a huge population of crocodiles with significant water flow whereas Vishwamitri is slow in flow with abundant pray (stray dogs and other animals) so crocodiles moving to Vishwamitri is normal.
Not just vadodara, even the other nearby talukas also see crocodile issues in their ponds and other water bodies.

Wrong information. Vadodara's Vishwamiti river (not Vishwamitra) is home to hundreds of Mugger crocodiles for decades. At least as a resident of Vadodara for last 20 years (home state Tamilnadu) I have seen crocodiles coming out during floods is very common even before the foundation was laid for Statue of Unity (Patel Statue).
Unfortunately Tamilians are made in to fools by the media and they also are willing to become fools.
