Learn how to measure dissolved oxygen content using the Winkler method. The LaMotte® Dissolved Oxygen Water Test Kit used in this video can be found at www.carolina.c... . Visit www.carolina.com to learn more!
In the 3:25, after adding the acid, the bottle contains some fraction of the initial iodide ions and some iodine molecules. Is that what it makes it look orange?
Nicely done presentation; but curious about how your sample came to 14ppm when that is saturation point for fresh water sample at 0C..... didn't look like you were freezing! I understand there are controversies about Winkler method.
Manan Suhail 1 second ago the initial value of DO can be calculated by this method but can we calculate final DO by this method? if yes then how?. I have read that final DO is find by placing the sample in an incubator for 5 days
Do This kit suitable to bring during site sampling.. ?? I mean how long do it take for one measurement to complete.. Is it can reach to 20min(if required long time titration)
What happens to the DO results if you add too much Starch Indicator? I was in the field and my dropper was missing from my Starch indicator solution so I had to improvise. I ended up getting a DO that was typical for a stream, but I am just curious if I need to go to the site and resample? Thank you and great video presentation!
I was wondering why she says "manganate sulphamate" instead of "manganese sulphate"... but then I've remembered she says to use gloves and goggles for this. -_- Typical nervous nelly you don't want in a lab. This method is routinely done and calling for such strict safety is a laughing matter. It's not mercury salts or concentrated nitric acid...
Ha, dinosaurs roamed the Earth when this method was used. Nobody else uses this Winkler Method on GLP settings , unless prior calibration for older membrane tech. especially in Commercial Laboratory, It used back in early 1970s to 1980s prior to Ion Specific Ion meters , Dissolved O2 Technology. Good for a learning lesson using classical wet chemical analysis, but not for day to day use.
The presentation was awesome. Easy to understand, thanks a lot.

Helped me a lot in my exams.. Make more of this
thanks really helped good for revision before lab exams
I truly like this presentation. God bless you Miss Berkeley
Thanks for the easy to follow presentation.
Who else is here after Dulan Sir’s recommendation? 😁
Dulan Maduranga. 🙂🇱🇰😍
Who is that?
@@ifeellikemovingtoparis111 Our chemistry teacher🥰

SMART demonstration. Thank you.
Thanks, this will be useful for my class.
it helped me a lot during ma exams tqs alot!!!
what a powerful presentation. that presentation is clear and precise. thanks
Watching from November 2021❤️🔥❤️🔥
its MnO2 and not MnOH2 incase of brown precipitate
Awesome explaination!
may I ask what is the chemical formula of Alkali-iodide-azide? Thanks for the response
Thank you so much for this video it really helped in understanding the concepts clearly
You're BM is so loud and please put the materials and apparatus used in the description
Does anyone know how did she get that each 0.1 ml thiosulphate is equal to 1 ppm DO?
At 2:53 what is the name of the product formed? And what is the formula?
It's manganese sulfonate, I'm pretty sure the formula is Mn(SO4)2
+Zade Johnston thank you!
what are the concs of both manganese sulfate and the alkali iodo azide solutions
just. best subtitle everrrrrrr
what is the molarity of the sodium thisulfate? 10mmol ?
Subtitles are needed

What does it mean when the sample does not turn blue after adding starch?
no Iodide is present in the solution
Is there a replacement for maganese sulfate?
What is Winkler method? How it is better than other methods?
Watch this video with the subtitles on... so funny! =)

Thats a method for calculating BOD(Biological lxygen demand)
Thank you so much
😍
fine and the presentation is good
Nice explanation friend
But in India we use conical flask and burrete
What factors affect amount of DO in water?
What is importance of DO?

Show the sample drip like that? You just added sulfuric acid.. 😮
this presentation very nice
ascent is not that clear though but good work
nice presentation
Good job keep it doing
awsm..easy to understand
Thank you 💌
ChemLab HAU, where you at?
Clearly precised👌 Thanks

Yes, go back!
Haiii ☺️ can u put subtitles 😁☺️
please 🙏☺️😁😁
Thank u Ma'am
Thanks a ton...!!
thanks a lot!!
a lot of thanks
Vey easy to follow and understand. Thanks a lot
kl zag
Loved it
Thank you!!
Love the presentation but frankly speaking you can be a huge distraction in my NO NUT NOVEMBER XDXD
Who is here after Dipro vaia's recommendation
Wrong, 1 ml of Sodium Thiosulphate = 1 mg/l of Dissolved Oxygen
thanks
welcome
thanks!
Que pena que no explique en español

I hate chemistry , i just don't understand chemical equations.
Ok sorry but she looks like Leah gotti 😐....,btw thanks mam
The person in the back was creepy.🙄
Shite
Wow..she is cute
Avinash Meena the one in the back not saying anything?
it helped me a lot during ma exams tqs alot!!!
