BTW - I do have something more to say - really enjoyed the format of the “Battle Report” - mix of normal speed and fast-forward, minimal dice rolling and minimal pointless ramblings (that usually accompany BR’s on some other channels and make them 3 times longer than they need to be) - well done guys.
“To recreate the Battle of Helm’s Deep on the tabletop would take a force of hundreds.” “TENS of hundreds.” “But my lord, there is no such force.” *BR-RM BR-RMMMMMMM*
@@intothewestpodcast Great video. I would say to increase the voice sound volume more as I felt they were too low, the voice sound quality could also be improved. The background music wasn't too loud (too many channels have too loud background music. Though in my opinion many times it's unnecessary). Aside from that, I enjoyed the video.
I love your channel , the calm vibe that you have all and the concise battle report that makes it so much nicer to watch than the usual 2 hous super detailed battle , keep it u guys !!
This is so cool lads. Dreamed of playing something similar with my models since I saw the movie as a child. Great to see it realised with such high quality
My brother and I, found out about MESBG by stumbling into a local GW with a Helm's Deep display back in 2002, it's always been a special sequence for us! Thanks for watching! -Richard
Truly enjoyed the battle! The attention to detail surprised me. I appreciate the amount of effort that was put into this. I thought even the camera work was on point. Everything is so well done. I like that a lot of models and special models were used. I just don't see that too often. The models and terrain are stunning as well. I look forward to see more form you!
Absolutely loved this guys!! Was so good to see good come through with the win (is anyone surprised Haldir did nothing and then died). Also loving the giant ladder, battering ram and Gimli mid air models! ~Elliot
Very cool - quick audio note, make sure to fill voice over audio to both sides. In premiere there is an effect called "fill left with right" or vice versa - useful on audio that is only on one channel.
I know I'm a tad late but as someone just getting into the Middle Earth table top scene, (my eyes are on the Battle of Osgiliath starter) I am fully enjoying the content! A good way to give a great and massive battle report too, would have been awesome to be present for and a part of I'm sure!

Very cinematic and great battle report! I think you might try using a fantasy battles type rules set in the future, though... This must have been super tedious to work out all of those individual combats and I am glad you didn't show any of the details. Understand you had lots of players and were probably doing a lot of combat simultaneously, but still...
Would love to have some pics and some of the dimensions (how high are the walls for example) on the helms deep build. I am planning my own helms deep and am looking for inspiration.
No tutorial currently, but if you want to see more of the building process, I have lots of videos and photos covering that on instagram @heroichighlights -Charles
What an amazing battle! Beautiful! The Audio is a tad weird at times though, as the commentators are only "on my left ear". Which does not decrease the epicness, but still ;)
Thank you! Ahh we've heard this happen in the past before, I believe it's with a certain kind of headphones. If you listen with speakers, I don't think it happens, sorry! -Richard
Regardless of the tripe film recreation why didn’t Sauron army take the fort destruction for all inside leaving enough time for taking horses off while they try to climb the walls; I wouldn’t have wasted orcs on this when they could regroup. Mostly I play 40k Blood Bowl but I would like to play with that incredible Helms Deep set up. It was amusing to see Legoless get taken out before I realised it would prevent Gimli taking the last boat heading west. 😊
That's an incredible Helms Deep model. I also really liked the Uruk-hai battering ram piece...is that made from scratch or did Games Workshop have a battering ram at one point?
Thanks! Games Workshop did release an Uruk battering ram model. The one you see here is heavily kit bashed with more bodies and the shield well! -Charles
Yes, 100% homemade. Number one tip would be to look around and a bunch of different builds people have done. There are many ways to tackle it and each method has its pros and cons.
Well there was a lot of things that happened in the movie that did not happen in the book but it is still one of if not the best movies ever made and the things they left out did not hurt the story

Fantastic Video and Battle !!!
This was an amazing day and one of the best, if not the best LoTR battles I have ever played. Thanks you so much for this guys.
Great to have you! We would love to see you at some more local events, even our regular tournaments are very beginner friendly!

That is really a good battle report ! We understand the fight well and the video isn't 3 hours ! I am a new follower, u have convinced me !

Nice iconic scenes
Wow. This is spectacular. What a cool scenario
That giant ladder model is so cool 👌🏻
The fact Rohan never sent ANY help to the wall always bothered me but I kinda understood it.
Made sense from a book standpoint with no elves
That is really well made for watching! Good job!
all looks amazing , thx for game resumen👍
What a fantastic battle report! So cinematic thanks to the editing. Wish I was part of it. Keep up the amazing work (loving the podcast too).
this is so awesome, amazing board and what a game!
Box says "Khazad-dûm pillars" and they conjure a bunch of Rohirrim out. Some nice magic there.
Great idea to have this as an annual event.
Daayyuum that was worth the wait. That was an awsome watch
RIP legolas
Excellent battle report. The scale of it was really wild. That fortress is awesome!
Really nice, those blue tint uruks look amazing
As long as there are no elves except Legolas

There wasn't a behind the mountain built haha

Nice video but needed more shots of the whole terrain piece, most of this is closeups, sweeping pans!
That cheeky ram stealing some extra movement, never trust an Uruk
😂😂
I would have put the Uruk-Hai on a cardboard base for the first couple turns

mow many total miniatures ,for the forces of good and dark ?thank you¡
Around 200 for good, and 500 for evil (with respawned reinforcements close to 800)!
really nice but would have loved to see a longer version

…idk how much 5k points is… but Saruman had 10k strong at LEAST!. 1:30

Did you make this Helms Deep tabletop? It’s amazing and I’d love to make my own. Wondering if you have any tips

The sexiest white grampa has arrived!! Fly you fools! this is for my baby legolasss!
dON'T CARE WHAT THE FILM SAYS, THE ONLY ELFD AT Helm's Deep was Legolas! The films are not canon!
Also there were many Wild Men at the battle fighting alongside the Orcs.
And similarly. I don't care about your opinion on LOTR canon
