The longer step chain is super useful sounding.i record oldschool so have the abilty to add different bass lines and and do it relatively seamlessly is super helpful.
Unless im missing something I would like a larger octave range when using it as a midi controller. It will sit in the lower octaves it is capable of playing but not let you go higher than that as a controller. and batteries, its such an oversight to have not made the B1 battery powered. otherwise I absolutely love my B1!
I love this thing. It killed two birds with one stone. A basic analogue synth for me to have fun with (I know nothing of synths), that turned out to be much more capable than it originally seemed. Plus, a really easy to use step sequencer/midi controller, to control other synths/VSTs etc. A total bargain to boot. I paid £89 for it!
Song mode needs some more attention. It's fun to have but not so much really. Can't edit anything while sequence is playing. Hope the Donner will upgrade B1 cause I bought two of them :)
Man I wish mine updated like yours!!! I get a donner driver error and it sticks at 6%..the unit stays in DFU mode. I’ve tried multiple cables with multiple different cables ( windows + mac ) Even when it gets out of DFU mode the patterns don’t play. I’m able to play the pads and get noise and all the knobs function, but none of the buttons are functioning. I’ve reached out to Donner support days ago but I haven’t heard anything :( I’ve tried all the reset options.. I just wannna rage this thing, if it works it seems like it would be perfect. I can’t stand the 303 style sequencer but I might have to deal with it if I can’t get this thing to work.
Did you get it to update in the end? I had the same problem initially. I managed to solve it by turning things 'off and on again' I does seem to be a problem a lot of people have.
@@Tiger.Arcade ah thanks. so i need a jack Thing cable with Same endings 6.3/6.35mm ? and whats with These two Midi 5 Pin Slots ? Just ordered both cause i cant found any Video explaning that with the donner b1. i got the ESI U22 XT Audio Interface .. will it Work with the donner?
@@lepaul_Official yes, any interface that has a 1/4 inch (6.3mm in roman catholic) input will work. The 5 pin midi ports are to interface with other midi devices (synths, interface, drum machines, sequencers etc), if you don't have any other devices with those ports then no need to worry about it for now
I would replace my behringer 303 with this, if this thing let you control your synth parameters over midi like an actual roland tb303. Instead there's song mode. meh.

Thanks for checking the vid out. Hope you’re doing well. ✌️
Love your channel, I just ordered one of these (my first hardware synth) and I am pretty amped up! Thanks for your great videos on affordable synths.
Hope you like it! Thanks for your support.
Great video. I need to spend more time exploring my DB1. Thanks for the video 💯
Interesting little piece of kit right there. Great video.

To record the audio, yes. You will need an audio interface.

Hi @@Tiger.Arcade, can I record this directly into Ableton? Or should I also have a sound card? Thanks a lot
@@turgayaksoy3032you will need an audio interface to record into a DAW, Ableton or otherwise

Did they fix the slide-triggers-envelope issue?
This was fixed in V1.0.2 in April "SLIDE behaviour amendment: The SLIDE won’t re-trigger the ENV now for a true legato-slide effect."
Do you need a laptop to play it? Sorry im very new to all of this
No. Just a speaker and audio cable to plug into the speaker.
@@Tiger.Arcade ok thanks
@@DinoWaffen many people use computers for something called a DAW. It’s to record the music, mix, and master for sharing purposes.
@@Tiger.Arcade what software do you need to record?
@@DinoWaffen look up DAW on Google. Digital audio workstation. Popular ones are Ableton, Logic Pro, pro tools and more.
Can you update via an IPAD Pro?
I don’t believe so
@@Tiger.Arcade oh okay…I’ll have to use my brothers MacBook Pro. Thank you!
Hi!
Have you already been able to play drum sounds like in Donner's advertising?
This is the B-1 synthesizer not the drum machine :)
@@Tiger.Arcade So it's false advertising from Donner
@@adrianpena6566 well they are advertising a similar looking instrument, the D-1.
@@adrianpena6566 no, it's misunderstanding on your part, you're thinking of the D1, not the B1
lol I am sure this guy uses the Donner B1 with all that gear.
Hahaha
