    I'd been chuckling through the joke laden interview but when he said the gag about austerity I lost it. I don't know how Jonesy kept a straight face. Harry Shearer is an intelligently funny man.

    Near-death metal! I'm not from the UK or LA, so I have no idea who that other gentleman is (some 70s pop singer I expect), but Derek Smalls is my spiritual centre. (I'm American, but I spell it that way to honour Derek.) When his band Tapped into America, he Tapped into my soul. I live my life collecting butter, but Derek Smalls has always been my bread. When all I have is bread, he provides the cucumber.

    So funny to watch all the comments on these shows. This is really just old school radio turned into a podcast. Back in the day radio had this vibe. Relaxed and improvised with some notes if the host needed them. And today it's almost radical because people has been fed with short attention spanned entertainment for decades. This is like taking a time machine back to the 70s.

      I just saw Edgar Winter on Jonesy's. He's been out of Texas since he was 16, and he STILL has his Texas accent! Ditto with Jonesy himself, whose been in Beverly Hills almost as long. So not everyone. But I do notice its easier for Australians, for some reason, to sound like Americans. Think Rick Springfield and Mel Gibson.
