Looks Beautiful! Thank you for being one of the few hair dressers that explain you don't need a toner if it lifts to the right blonde. My hair lifts to the proper blonde and I have asked every hair dresser not to use toner in my hair. They do not listen so I will be doing my own hair, that's what lead me to your wonderful video! Thank you for all of your tips, your hair looks fantastic!

Why don't they listen to you?🤦‍♀️ It would make their life easier and you'd be happy. They could use a clear gloss to make themselves feel better if they were determined to use something.
I had the same issue with my colourist. He would tone the gold out of my hair but my hair is naturally golden so the ash blonde sucked all the colour out of my skin. He did listen to me when I finally realized why I liked it better as weeks went on.
Are you naturally golden, Jennifer? If you have any questions please reach out. I love helping. 🤗

Yes Julie! My hair lifts warm but with a 30 lift and the right amount of time it gets to a very pretty light blonde with a little gold (not orange or yellow), it lifts perfectly. The yound har dressers today think toner is a must but it always grabs too mach and looks straight purple or dirty. It looks awful!
I used your tips last night and my hair came out better than at any Salon!!!! They just don't care to listen. Thank you again for sharing your tips. Your hair looks top notch and you a a beautiful person!

I also stopped using toner as my hair also lifts to a very pale blonde just fine. any toner flattened out the color to a duller tone, i didnt like it! I use an acidic bond lotion (saturate whole scalp hair for 5 minutes) after rinsing out the bleach paste, makes hair silky, really nice.

Oh wow! I need this magical potion! Your hair is Silky smooth! Where would I find this product and is there a brand you prefer? Thank you for all of your amazing tips.

Looks great. ive been doing my own cap highlights for years. i used sally beauty supply bleach powder and vol 20 developer. when using a new cap, I sit on the couch, and using the straightened barb prong of a lg safety pin, poke through every hole on the cap. that way you dont have to struggle to get the hook through both plastic cap layers to find the hair strands. much easier. and i pull the strands on the back of my scalp first, then the sides, and then the top and then the facial surround. otherwise you will have long strands hanging in your face the whole time, very annoying. when applying the bleach paste, i start at the very back of the head as thats where the strands are the most resistant to bleach, then the sides, then the top then the facial surround, as the facial surround strands bleach much faster. i have a lot of grey hair, hmmm! put tight plastic overcap on and secure it tightly with a long elastic to make sure its totally sealed. it takes an hour to fully cure the strands to a 95% pure very very light blonde, anything less (more yellow) and im going to get brassy, yikes. rinse with cap on, then pull off. apply acidic bonding lotion for 5 minutes to saturate, then wash/rinse. blow dry to BEAUTIFUL BLONDE strands! For $30 i get a years supply of product, this procedure in the salon is $150 or more, plus sit in chair for 2 hrs total, boring!

Lauren, you're so good. Did you go through for hairstyling? I couldn't have said it better myself.

@@JulieMeikle no i never had any training in hairstyling etc. I just LOVED my blonde strands but didnt always have $150 to get my hair done, so i did the drug store Frost n Tip box bleach and got confident in the process, so eventually went to the Sally Beauty supply and found their products (and help) so much cheaper and better. I only do it about 4 times a year, usually, so i dont overprocess my hair.
Theres very few self done blonde bleach cap method vids on yt, and yours is one of the better ones, thats why i commented.

I have a question. When you said if the hair has color on it, don't do the cap bleaching. I have wella demi permanent cream in a level 5 on my roots. I used a 10 vol developer to do the root smudge. Otherwise my hair has no other color only grown out bleached highlights (not many) maybe 25% of entire head. Do you think it's ok to do cap highlights with a 20% developer and bleach? Will the wella dye lift? Thank you. I hope you reply. I'm new to DIY my own hair. I'm naturally a level 5 or so.

I did. My hair is naturally ginger. Growing up I was called Red or Carrot Top and I would always say "it's not red, it's strawberry blonde!" LOL
I had a beautiful strawberry blonde/copper mixture I would use on one of my clients. It was by a company called Schwarzcopf and the line was TBH. I would mix 9-57 with 7-57. We were covering her grey. It looked beautiful.
If you don't have a lot of grey, I might mix in another colour so it doesn't grab the copper too much. When hair is lightened, it naturally reveals warmth so that would have to be taken into consideration.
Had some pops of blonde highlights and you're set.

Hi Deb! Thank you! 🙂 It's by Bobbi Brown and it's her Luxe Matte Lip Color in Raspberry. Here's a link that will take you to the formula on Sephora. It takes you to Pale Mauve but you'll see the Raspberry there.

🤗 This is a little older. I'm almost 53 in October.
I've invested in my skin. I never want to give the impression that it's all natural. I don't know why I feel the need to say that after a compliment but it's important to me for you to know I get dysport and have had skin treatments.

It looks golden to me not strawberry

Is a little bit of both, Leslie. I was called "red" and "carrot top" growing up but as I've aged, I've lost a bit of the red. In the natural day light the red is easier to see. I used to say, "My hair's not red, it's strawberry blonde!!" I would get so defensive.🤦‍♀️
