"If its missing stickers its NOT complete"
Really wish *some* people on bricklink & ebay understood that, as well as the fact that If a set has minifigures its not 99% complete WITHOUT those minifigures! So wild how the same people willing to claim minifigures are the most important parts of a set are also willing to claim they literally only 1% of the set they come from. Truly incredible math.

Man I miss those simpler sets from the 70's and 80's. I built and took apart my classic space sets so many times I didn't even have to use the instructions. Which I also loved, something about the paper they were printed on.

Aaaahhh yes! jaabo finally has his bank! Good job on getting so close to the original.
It makes me giggle to think this all started in a podcast and you yelled "aaawwwwwnooo...dang it!"😅
Enjoy your bank! Will it get a nice space in your home for the moment?

Another brick kicks set is 1475-1, and it was advertised as not sold in any stores but it was put in a Toys R Us bundle, so it hard to know what actually was exclusive or not.
Your welcome btw for the info on 1490-1 being a brick kicks set.

honestly, this one (1490 bank set) and the fire evacuation team (1656) and the 6380 Medical Treatment Center were 3 of my "white wale sets" growing up.

1:21 Yes! I have, I photocopied an order form from a 1991 catalog (I didn't want to damage the original) and ordered set 6259 Broadside's Brig. This was a couple years ago and still nothing. :(

What a fabulous little set. There’s something about the simplicity that makes these build endearing. My son had police and fire stations from that era, and the airport sets too! There wasn’t much to them, but they gave him hours of fun!
My fabulous wife has just gifted me LEGO set 6382 Fire Station, from 1981. It was missing a couple of bricks and a shutter piece, which she subsequently picked up from BrickLink. All were vintage (of the time) replacements.
It wasn’t sold as complete as the seller had substituted modern pieces, which, as mentioned, my wife swapped out. It was also missing a single sticker. Typically, of the time, it was one which went across multiple bricks. She purchased a replacement set from the Netherlands. So now, it’s perfect!
I love this set. It wasn’t the version my, now 44 year old, son had. I’m sure he had a mid-80’s version. But, it’s still awesome!

this set is super cool for 1989. it's bare on the inside but that was the charm of this era. I would love to see someone to a half baseplate, open back, modular MOC of this...sort of like a 90th anniversary call back reimagining.

I love your content and seeing sets from my younger years. My family couldn’t afford Lego when I was younger, so I didn’t get my first set until I was 24 years old. I’ve been hooked on Lego ever since. Thank you for your channel 😊

I’ve tried piecing this together so many times but I’ve never used the original pieces. Highly flimsy because of all the open space

I like the diagonal door setting design but not how they did it. I don't like the gap over the doors. Or what it leaves at the sides. Also setting them shut neatly is a pest when they swing either direction, I could be wrong but I thought when set next to bricks they shut flush in a satisfying way. Double doors of this era were a bit rare and a treasured pair of pieces.

We found some 1980s “McDollars” to redeem at the restaurant. As a joke we tried it at our local Mdonalds and they took them!

Oh hell yeah I want it. But for somebody in Holland it is hard to find. Well, it is harder for a European. Not the bricks, but a set is complete with minimum instructions. So that is a problem. Box is impossible I suppose. But....I will ever have the instructions tho. For sure. A few months ago I started to part it out. The white roof above the two doors are the hardest to find in my opinion. Those are from the Space Monorail. I do had some in stock tho.
Like said I will ever have the instructions. Just like with the ultra rare 1968 set. Do have the instructions now in perfect condition. And the set ofcourse. 😂
