    Plastering is the process of covering rough walls and uneven surfaces with a mixture of cement, sand, and water, called plaster.
    To calculate the quantity of plaster for a wall, you need to know the area of the wall, the thickness of the plaster, and the ratio of cement and sand in the plaster.
    The area of the wall is obtained by multiplying the length and height of the wall. If there is any opening in the wall, such as a door or a window, you need to subtract its area from the wall area.
    The thickness of the plaster is usually 12 mm (0.012 m) for inner walls and 15 mm (0.015 m) for outer walls. However, this may vary depending on the surface condition and the quality of the plaster.
    The ratio of cement and sand in the plaster is usually 1:4 or 1:6, meaning one part of cement and four or six parts of sand by volume. This also depends on the type and quality of plaster.
    To calculate the volume of plaster, you need to multiply the area of the wall by the thickness of the plaster. This gives you the wet volume of plaster, which is the volume before adding water.
    To get the dry volume of plaster, which is the volume after adding water, you need to increase the wet volume by 25% to 30%. This accounts for the shrinkage and wastage of plaster during application.
    To calculate the quantity of cement in the plaster, you need to multiply the dry volume by the cement ratio and divide by the sum of ratios. Then you need to divide by the volume of one bag of cement, which is usually 0.035 m3 or 50 kg.
    To calculate the quantity of sand in the plaster, you need to multiply the dry volume by the sand ratio and divide by the sum of ratios. Then you need to multiply by the density of sand, which is usually 1550 kg/m3 or 1.55 tons/m3.
    For example, if you want to plaster a wall with a length of 6 m, a height of 3 m, a thickness of 12 mm, and a ratio of 1:4, you can follow these steps:
    Let's work volume= 1600 sft
    thickness = .5''/12 =.041'
    =1600x.041 = 65.6 cft
    for easy calculation =66 cft
    working volume = 66 cft
    = 66 x 1.33 (Dry Volume)
    = 87.78 cft /cubic foot
    Plaster ratio = 1:4 = 5
    Cement = 87.78/5 = 17.556 cft
    = 17.556/1.25 = 14.04 Bag
    Sand = 87.78/5 x 4 = 70.224 cft/cubic feet
