    Interesting.
    Just curious; what is the black paper layer that you glued in between the body blank and the top/cap? Is that some kind of carbon something-or-other?
    What is the purpose of that being there? I ask since the past almost 100 years, that has not been used and guitars have stayed together quite nicely (save a few horribly low quality builds from the 1970's).
    I've had Gibsons, Hamers, ESP, Univox, build a few guitars myself, but I've never seen that done.
    Please explain.. 🙂

      It’s just black dyed wood veneer. I used it so that I would get a black pin stripe effect around the edge of the guitar between the body wood and the edge of the maple top. I did PRS style faux binding (where the edge is the same wood as the top but you just leave the edge with no stain) so it was the only way to get this effect. Alternatively I could have done separate binding with a black strip on the binding but I thought this would be easier. Hope my explanation makes sense!

      It absolutely makes sense. Got it from the first sentence - the rest is interesting details.
      It seems, at first, a lot of lamination for such a small detail. But;
      as you say, it gives the desired effect with a lot less work than trying to create the contrasting effect using binding. So it would appear to be the more clever option.
      Nicely done.
