The only way you could be very patient with unknown shots is if the survivor's not weakened, but if so, you need to get the hit within 10 seconds before you have to do another shot. Especially if he has a cool down after shooting, unlike any other range killers, some of them are slower while holding their power. So there's only a little bit of patients before you lose too much distance. But with unknown that aint the case, but there is a time limit.
Idk why they put 3 different mini icons for Unknown’s ability, you could just use the main one for the UVX, a mini one for the teleport time and then a second mini one for the hallucination respawn if you really need it. Just feels way too cluttered in the corner. I also don’t know why they needed Vanishing box so harshly, it’s obvious why people rely on these sorts of add-ons because there’s clearly a sort of deficiency in a certain area of a killer’s kit. People ran Marvin’s blood on Nemesis because it took ages for him to level up, we ran boat key on dredge because his teleport was super slow, and we run vanishing box on Unknown because it’s difficult to consistently hit shots on survivors and actually gain value from the weakened. They should be looking at the root causes rather than just nerfing a good add-on.
you can already tell in the live version....there's an audio cue when your hallucination meter will rapidly increase triggering the hallucination spawn. Once you see that purple side bars will turn yellow and that's your tell
So instead of changing other add ons to make them more appealing, they nerf the 2 most popular ones. So uninspired and pointless. Better yet, don't make changes no one wanted or needed

I feel like the teleport/hallucination UI is fine, but they don't need a separate UI element for charging and launching UVX. Also, why remove the purple liquid from hindered survivors? That actually made it MORE confusing.
His recovery when he teleports to a clone in no way has the % of Basekit announced by BHVR concerning the blurry photo (the recovery is 1.7 on live, 0.85 sec with the add-on, now on the PTB it is 1.4 sec in basekit, and 1.19 sec with the add-on. do you see the problem here?) and they nerfed Blurred Photo in return. I would like to know where BHVR's notes regarding "Edging" used to deceive survivors come from (and besides, I don't see why this is a problem, it's a mindgame technique, why nerf it ?), because honestly, I think that many of us mainly use this manipulation to control our clones in order to deploy them in strategic locations. The HUD is too clunky, and adds even more to the clunky appearance of these modifications on the killer. What is the point of having an icon that gives me the number of clones present on the map, when we can directly see them because they have a white aura? All this killer needed to have was half the effect of Blurry Picture, and for this add-on to retain 25% of its original effect. He needed a soft QoL buff on his M2, and adjustments to MAJORITY of his add-ons which are so miserable that it's almost impossible to create synergy between them. It is not for nothing that the two addons Vanishing box and Blurry picture were the most appreciated, because there was a real synergy and a very good combo. It's just a Big L for me, BHVR semi-destroyed a killer that I really like. It's like they nerfed the Wraith's movement speed, and increased the time it takes for it to respawn, or increased the time it takes for the artist to create ravens, reduce their throwing speed, and increasing the recovery cd.

Honestly these changes are fine. A little base kit buff to a few things but now you’ll have to consume more time to place your hallucinations in ideal spots than before but it’s not a big deal, you normally only do that 2-4 times per game so it’s not a huge nerf. He’ll still be an A tier killer.
I will only accept these changes if it includes a crawling mode in future (while crawling, you move slightly slower, you also become harder to see, and make it so survivors who are looking at you recover from Weakened 50% slower)
It's fine if weakened doesn't directly apply, the explosion is large enough and it's ok to have the power work like nemi's tentacle or blight's rushes where it doesn't necessarily work immediately. That being said, either more of an effect should happen with direct hits, or none. As is, the hinder is old nemi hinder level useless. If you want to make bounce hits more emphasized, just removed the hindered. If you want direct hits to have an alternative affect, do something more than 6% hinder for 3 seconds
what I wish they did was, having UVX pass through a survivor will refill their Weakened meter but ONLY enough to attempt ONE more hit. If you miss but have UVX pass through them again then by the time you are able to shoot again they will have cleansed themselves of Weakened

I'd argue Skull Merchant got the Freddy treatment: Sub par Killer made absolute dogwater, because of the amount of people complaining about not being able to understand the easy counter to the Killer. Why learn how to counter the Killer when you get Behaviour to gut the Killer instead so nobody can play them, right?
0:20 so does the movement speed penalty occur after Unknown’s power is already out and ready to use or when you tap it? I was under the impression Unknown became slower when tapping now instead of holding, yet he feels the exact same speed when tapping the power.

I dont understand BVHR for nerfing Killers that are fair and balanced. Unknown was fine, but having a better HUD for his hallucinations was needed, it was so jarring at times when your next hallucination was about to spawn.

As an Unknown Main I felt Vanishing Box had minimal impact outside of Low MMR games. This feels like yet another useless nerf made because of comp-players bitching.
These unknown changes seem fine, just made certain parts about his kit more reactable (teleporting in front of a survivor without screwing over his macro and holding power to zone a survivor until you can M1) and changed the iridescent to be a trade-off like most other iridescents (especially since it is quite strong even with the new downside). I hope they don’t touch him any more, these nerfs won’t affect him hugely at base but any more will cause him to start hurting quite a bit.

Everything is pretty good, except the add-ons. in particular the Blurry Photo, that one is a terribly unneeded nerf; as for Vanishing Box, the nerf is not completely braindead, but 80% is massive; 20% would have been way more reasonable.
this whole update is a mess. no wonder killer mains are deciding to quit this game. the ones that stay will be more keen on tunneling/camping and i can't blame them.
The movement speed reduction was needed. I thought The Unknown was always just a bit too over-tuned and had too much pressure compared to other killers. They need to dial back a lot of these newer release killers to be more in-line with ones released 2+ years ago. New killers seem to be a jack-of-all-trades whereas older killers would excel at one or two things but lack in others. This system was more balanced.
Not rlly, 2+ years ago wesker, dredge, sadako, and artist were released. Not only are these all killers that don’t excel at one thing, but 2 of them are above average killers and 2 of them are below average killers. Also you need a fucking 3 hour youtube video to completely understand their kits.
@@jomama2339 Lich is a better Artist. Unknown is a better Dredge and Onryo imo. And Wesker is usually just kind of meh anyway, fairly easily countered. A lot of these newer killers have abilities similar to those of several other killers which, to my point, kind of make some of the older killers a bit redundant and absolete thus making them a bit too pressuring. If you're saying you need a 3+ hour video for the killers you mentioned in your comment, I'd disagree as they're relatively easy to play. For some of the new killers released within the last 2 years, sure, I'd agree with that. But that just kind of reinforces my point about them having too much in their kits/abilities and being over-pressuring.

But after I played 3 games as and against him on his release day I kinda understood all the counter play. And while I do agree that they have more complex and harder to understand abilities, that doesn’t naturally make them super good. Thats like saying skull merchant is an op killer bc she has such a bloated kit, is she confusing, yes. But is she op, no. Also ntm that most older killers the whole counterplay consists of doing 1 one of 3 things, predropping, holding w, or just hoping the killer misses. The more modern killers such as unk, Lich, and drac have more killer specific counterplay that makes them more fun to play against imo. They basically nerfed Unknown for no reason. When all they had to do is let Unknown apply weakened when hit DIRECTLY by UVX 🤦♀️

I feel like all the changes are fair except the Vanishing box. That is a ridiculous penalty for an addon that isn’t even that op
i don't play him but on survivor side he felt very balanced before, feels kinda unnecessary

As an Unknown Main I felt Vanishing Box had minimal impact outside of Low MMR games. This feels like yet another useless nerf made because of comp-players bitching.

These unknown changes seem fine, just made certain parts about his kit more reactable (teleporting in front of a survivor without screwing over his macro and holding power to zone a survivor until you can M1) and changed the iridescent to be a trade-off like most other iridescents (especially since it is quite strong even with the new downside).
I hope they don’t touch him any more, these nerfs won’t affect him hugely at base but any more will cause him to start hurting quite a bit.

You're ment to make the base closer as if you had the add on, not buff it slightly and make the add on worse than before the change!

Everything is pretty good, except the add-ons. in particular the Blurry Photo, that one is a terribly unneeded nerf; as for Vanishing Box, the nerf is not completely braindead, but 80% is massive; 20% would have been way more reasonable.

this whole update is a mess. no wonder killer mains are deciding to quit this game. the ones that stay will be more keen on tunneling/camping and i can't blame them.
The unknown was fun to play as and against, minus the proxy camping. This update to them was seriously unnecessary and bogus.

The movement speed reduction was needed. I thought The Unknown was always just a bit too over-tuned and had too much pressure compared to other killers. They need to dial back a lot of these newer release killers to be more in-line with ones released 2+ years ago. New killers seem to be a jack-of-all-trades whereas older killers would excel at one or two things but lack in others. This system was more balanced.
Not rlly, 2+ years ago wesker, dredge, sadako, and artist were released. Not only are these all killers that don’t excel at one thing, but 2 of them are above average killers and 2 of them are below average killers. Also you need a fucking 3 hour youtube video to completely understand their kits.
@@jomama2339 Lich is a better Artist. Unknown is a better Dredge and Onryo imo. And Wesker is usually just kind of meh anyway, fairly easily countered. A lot of these newer killers have abilities similar to those of several other killers which, to my point, kind of make some of the older killers a bit redundant and absolete thus making them a bit too pressuring. If you're saying you need a 3+ hour video for the killers you mentioned in your comment, I'd disagree as they're relatively easy to play. For some of the new killers released within the last 2 years, sure, I'd agree with that. But that just kind of reinforces my point about them having too much in their kits/abilities and being over-pressuring.
@@KalculatedRisk As a Lich main he ain’t better than artist, while he has a very specific counters that are harder to learn than artist’s counters. But after I played 3 games as and against him on his release day I kinda understood all the counter play. And while I do agree that they have more complex and harder to understand abilities, that doesn’t naturally make them super good. Thats like saying skull merchant is an op killer bc she has such a bloated kit, is she confusing, yes. But is she op, no. Also ntm that most older killers the whole counterplay consists of doing 1 one of 3 things, predropping, holding w, or just hoping the killer misses. The more modern killers such as unk, Lich, and drac have more killer specific counterplay that makes them more fun to play against imo. And lastly, like it or not most new killers are going to have complex powers simply because behavior has run out of ideas for a singular power that is completely unique and not garbage or op.
