  • Along Avenue Niel the moveable feast of Paris is on full display in two ways: first in the doors & details of Belle Epoque architecture, then in the outdoor market streets of Rue Poncelet & Rue Bayen.
    I forgot to put the name of the floral shop on the screen - it's called Deschamps.

      Glad you enjoyed it! Every arrondissement has its beauty of course, but lately there's something about the 17th that's really pushing all the right buttons.

    You are so close to where my cousin had her art restoration/framing shop at 44 rue Rennequin. She was there for 30 years and retired in 2018.

    Excellent tour of Avenue Niel and the surrounding streets! I was so glad to see the magazins réunis building where my mom and I shopped so many times! Thank you for showing the indoor stained glass ceiling I remember the grand stair case in the middle of the store! Wonder if it still exist?

    • @afrenchfryeinparis
      @afrenchfryeinparis  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much for the comment. Alas I didn't see any grand staircase inside, the FNAC store seems to only have a column of escalators going up. Part of me still hopes it's hidden in there somewhere and I just managed to miss it. Thanks for watching & commenting!

      @@afrenchfryeinparis sad ! It would be hard to hide! It was so grand!! One more thing I remember were the hard candies (berlingots)vendors outside under the marquees! I still remember the smell of anis!😀

    Thank you for another meander about the city. Out of curiosity, should the air raid sirens go off, and it's not the first Wednesday of the month, what would that indicate?? An imminent invasion of some kind? Something questionable in the air space above the city?

      I've asked myself that same question! I actually heard it happen once when it wasn't supposed to. I just waited...listened...nothing happened, so I went on with my day.
