    Thank you so much! I knew to anticipate closed metro stations and lots of crowds, but didn’t know about the grey areas. I’m in Paris just for a day on 7/20. I don’t have reservations for anywhere within the grey area but was hoping to walk around near the Louvre, Tuileries gardens, and Notre Dame (even though it’s closed). Looks like we’ll need to find a restaurant reservation inside the grey line to qualify for the pass.

    Thank you so much for this information! It is a life saver!❤Trying to understand the requirements of the pass has been difficult for me. My biggest question was whether or not I needed a Pass Jeux for after July 26th to visit tourist attractions that are not related to the Olympics? (i.e. Lourve, Arc de Triomphe) Based on my current Itinerary, most locations seem to not have a perimeter or is in the blue /red perimeter and I'm planning to take a lot of public transportation so is it safe to say I don't need the pass?

    • @frenchcrawl
      @frenchcrawl  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@ashleybruce8053 yes it’s pretty confusing. But the good thing is after July 26th, those areas will be good to go, so you won’t need the Pass Jeux to visit.
      Some areas like place de la Concorde next to Tuileries and Champs de mars next to the Eiffel Tower are Olympic sites, so they’ll be inaccessible unless going to an event.
      Otherwise, the only thing that could be a hindrance are the road races - the Marathon and bike races. So certain streets and such will be blocked off on those days.

    Hello! Thanks for all the info 😊
    We are going to Paris from 23 to 25 of July, we had checked on the website and said literally: “ From 18/07 to 26/07 until 1p.m perimeter Gray controlled access” Do you know what happen after 1p.m the week before the open ceremony? Is normal circulation?

    • @frenchcrawl

      So at 1pm on 26/07, the security area around the Seine will expand because this is the day of the Opening Ceremony. That is when people who have tickets for the Opening Ceremony can enter.
      From 27/07 and on, the Seine area will be back to normal. And only areas hosting events will have restrictions around it.
      Your dates 23-25 will have restricted areas along the Seine activated. So if you have any planned activities in the grey areas make sure to apply for Pass Jeux for each appointment (restaurant, museum etc). Have a good trip.

      The lower quays are all ticketed. Upper quay info:
      « On the day of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, the upper quays will be accessible only to spectators with access cards and to residents/professionals whose home/activity is located in the SILT and who wish to reach this location. To gain access to the grey perimeter (SILT), shakedowns and bag searches will be mandatory. Each time you enter the perimeter, you'll also have to present your Games Pass (a QR Code) to the police with identification. To obtain this digital pass, you must register now on the dedicated digital platform of the Préfecture de Police (Pass Jeux). For people without access to online services, a dedicated system will be put up in every arrondissement town hall. The Games Pass can be presented on a smartphone or printed out. It only applies to people aged 13 and over. »

    What if I am a tourist who is just renting a home in the red zone, do I need to apply for a red zone pass for my uber to drop me from the airport to the house? and do I need a reservation to go to the grey area just to walk around?

    • @frenchcrawl
      @frenchcrawl  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can walk in the red zone. If going by car, you might be stopped if you don’t have a pass jeux, they’ve written all riders in a vehicle need one when accessing a red zone. I would ask for the place’s opinion as well. Personally, I would err on getting one just for peace of mind and it’s free. Or be prepared to possibly be dropped off outside of the red zone and walk.
      As far as the grey area, the main one of concern will the the Seine area from July 18-26. You will need a reservation to show a reason to be in the area when applying for a Pass Jeux since it will ask you (reservation, lodging, appointments etc). There’s no « general » pass to just go walk around. People have reported they had to apply for a pass for each individual appointment (Louvre, restaurant, even on same day). Outside of that all grey areas will be Olympic venues, which a ticket will get you in.
      As for where you can walk around once inside the grey zone, I’m not sure. So cannot say with assurance you can walk around wherever you wish once in. Hope that helps. I think people will have a better idea once everything is up and they access it.

      Unfortunately those areas will be restricted starting the 18th.

      @@anetakam100 I made a new video this week talking about how some places don’t need it now, like the Eiffel Tower here th-cam.com/video/ikzh2weGmns/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Ifrx42y9VEITLtsj
      The Eiffel Tower doesn’t need it now. They will handle security, but have not provided details yet. Check out their page.
      Arc de Triomphe is not inside an area that needs a Pass Jeux. So don’t worry about that one.
      Sainte-Chapelle does require one. Notre Dame is closed and so I’m not sure how they’ll handle it (just to have a pass to walk to it).
      Check out this Reddit thread, a user gave their own timeline on their pass request that was helpful (they got some and still waiting on others):
      www.reddit.com/r/olympics/s/UW4REQjzq6
      They were able to get a response by emailing support@pass-jeux.gouv.fr and providing their confirmation code.

    Thxs for this so basically if you travel in Paris in those restrictions after July 26th you DON'T need the pass jeux?

    • @frenchcrawl
      @frenchcrawl  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@xiaomilee1067 yes, that’s the main idea because of the Opening Ceremony, which will take place on July 26th. After that, the main people needing the Pass Jeux are those operating vehicles who need to travel in red zones.
      Also, between July 18-26, the Louvre, Eiffel Tower Musée d’Orsay don’t need a pass jeux as well. They will have their own secured entrance but you’ll need a ticket beforehand - check their site for more instructions. The tourism site just released more info on July 5th. Link here

      @@xiaomilee1067 one thing to keep in mind - there will be a marathon and bike races at some point, so if you had something in those areas on those dates you might need a pass. The venue you’re trying to get to should tell you or ask them. These races are happening in July and August.

    are the opening ceremonies open for public viewing ?

    • @frenchcrawl
      @frenchcrawl  หลายเดือนก่อน

      They changed it earlier this year due to security concerns, unfortunately. So you’ll need a ticket to access any areas close to the Seine based on the security map.
      Otherwise you’ll have to find some place that’ll have a view if that is what you’d like to do. People who live in buildings overlooking can watch for free, of course. Restaurants are holding parties, but some prices are possibly more than a ceremony ticket. And you’ll need a pass jeux to access them most likely.
      I believe the city will have screens set up around for viewing parties. Good luck!

      @@aleksandrakomorowska6425 you don’t now. It has changed.
      The Eiffel Tower will have their own entrance with security. The Louvre will do the same. This is only for July 18-26. But you’ll need tickets. I made a video about it here: th-cam.com/video/ikzh2weGmns/w-d-xo.htmlsi=G7qbTioHhRRNoMSX

      @frenchcrawl  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@aleksandrakomorowska6425 there’s no list that I know of. You’ll have to consult the map to see if it’s inside the perimeter and then see what their protocol is.
      The best info will be the tourism site, which has shared what sites now don’t require it, here’s a good article: parisjetaime.com/eng/article/paris-2024-games-practical-guide-district-by-district-a1706
      I’m assuming anything not on their list will require a pass jeux if inside the security perimeter.
      Their latest release on July 5th: events.parisinfo.com/adherents/comment_circuler_dans_paris_en.pdf
      And then the interactive map to check if the place you’re going to will be within the perimeter: anticiperlesjeux.gouv.fr/en/I%27m-informing-myself/opening-ceremony-olympic-games-paris-2024
      Hope that helps.
