And we have the Kramer Winner! Congrats to John S on your new 80s machine. I’ve already been in contact with John so if you are another John S don’t worry more giveaway on the way …. Like maybe tomorrow 😉
My first electric guitar was a Kramer. Sadly had to sell it along with 5 others for HVAC replacement back in 2011. Only guitar I wish I regret selling
Back around 1984 or 85, my friend and I saved every penny and we each bought a Kramer Baretta because that's what Eddie was playing at the time. I think they were 800 or 900 bucks. A ton of money for a 16yo! Was a great guitar, I really wish I still had it.
Kramer will always hold a special spot in my heart. My first guitar was a Kramer. Still have it after almost 25 years, hanging on my wall next to my first acoustic.
Always hold on to your first 🎸!
My first guitar was also a Kramer lol
I still have a Kramer Baretta that has a sustainer in it. I got it from MusicYo in early 2000s for $400. I also still have the Kramer Striker thin body like an Ibanez "S" series in white with black and red "Splatter" paint. Those were only $189. God I miss MusicYo.
Dude thats wild , i had one too Burgundy, Floyd Rose, and split rail humbuckers. I ALSO purchased from music Yo....so crazy i miss that thing !!!! Reading your comment really took me back
Not me sir,, I never forget about Kramer! Awesome guitars and probably my favorite since I'm a player that played gigs in 80s and 90s ,, then Nirvana ruined everything lol . Just saying
You're not wrong.
80s Kramers are the best feeling production guitars. I’ve played thousands of guitars over the years and they don’t make ‘em like those anymore. Not even close!
@@TylerJohnstonGuitar I agree 💯 I recently bought a Kramer pacer Re issue. Upgraded to jb in bridge. Sounds and feels amazing. I agree that the neck is fantastic. I'm going to do a few more upgrades. Stainless steel saddles and brass block sit the feel of the guitar is my favorite!
Nice guitar, Dude. My mid 80's USA Barretta is one of favorite axes. Unfinished neck, Scalloped from 12 up. Original German Floyd. It's an absolute Ferrari.
Hahah, The damn grunge Era pushed the real rock out. I got a Kramer focus 2000 back in 85'. Those Seymore Duncan's were real rippers🤘
I have a 1987 Kramer focus 6000 that I still play. Years ago I put EMG pickups on it. It rocks!
That was my first guitar too. Wish in still had it.
I actually bought a Kramer Barretta for blues and rock. I was looking at other guitars in the store and wasn't feeling anything then I decided to pick up the Kramer just to rock out and clear my head and fell in love with it. It just felt great and sounded great playing heavier Texas style blues. I put a tone control in it and it's been my number one now for the last year.
I loved Kramers growing up and the 80’s. I want it.
I hope you can feature a B.C. Rich prophecy Gunslinger in the future. Tons of 80s DNA in that axe.
I started on a Kramer Striker ST600 and have all kinds of love for Kramer.
hey robert my dad told me about your channel we are working on an 80s rock song and your videos have helped me with my guitar solo thank you for all the help keep up the good videos
their Kramer Baretta specail from couple years ago was AWESOME !!!!!
When I graduated college (1995) I spent the grad money on a 1987 Kramer American Stagemaster Deluxe I. I love this guitar and I still have it. It rocks!
I've owned my Kramer Baretta I bought new in 1985. It's still literally one of the best playing guitars I've ever owned!
Robert, I think the last time I had a Kramer in my hands, it had one of the ancient aluminum "boat anchor" necks on it! Mid to late 80s, we're talkin'.
Now, Robert, I'm going to take you to task on the subject of clean tones -- because I like your stuff; none of this is intended to knock you at ALL, though. You expressed your opinion and I have a different one that I'm going to talk about. One of these days, I might tell you what I say about opinions. In the meantime, much of our difference is a cultural thing. You are and always have been a rocker, whereas I came up in the completely different bag of 60s, 70s and 80s soul, rhythm and blues, jazz, funk and funk rock. Most of those musics feature guitars played with what I call "jazzy cleanliness," or I say the tone is "jazzy clean." NO distortion. Zero. Nada. The emphasis here is on tone, rhythm and THE POCKET, as opposed to that (wonderful and absolutely addictive) rocker's roar of distortion. Now, I will admit that there are some few funk, funk rock, and similar songs played with crunchy rhythm parts, and distorted leads find their way all over the place, but the great lion's share of music I heard back then was loaded with that clean stuff. Think Motown's Funk Brothers and Stax' Booker T and the MGs. I grew up loving that stuff, dancing to it, and eventually playing it. Yes, I did branch out into outright rock later, after growing up a bit more, but the clean country is my origin point, where I'm still mostly at.
Also understand that, when I was playing out, I was always in a cover band and brought exactly one guitar ... the one I owned. It had to do everything, so it had to be Versatile with a capital V. I can't imagine any single pickup guitar that would have answered that mail to my satisfaction, then or now. But, yeah ... all that really means is that those guitars are not for me and that I know it. Those guitars exist for good reasons and are wonderful for those who have those needs. To each player, the right gear!
So now that I'm not playing out that way, don't HAVE to be versatile if I don't want to, and have the resources to get one fairly easily, why don't I buy a single pickup guitar now? Because old habits die hard and I see no reason to kill that one now. I'm good. I hope WE'RE good, too.
I’m all about the 80’s era guitars…Charvels, Jackson’s, Kramer’s, B.C. Rich, Hamer’s….still love all them guitars……🎸🎶🤘
Gary Kramer had a winery in paso Robles ca. I was a member there for years. Tons of guitars on display.
Awesome playing Robert! That Kramer brings back memories of the 2 different '80's Focus models i owned. Loved those guitars but was forced to sell them. Life gets in the way sometimes when you have hard times.
I got a Kramer Baretta special a few years ago. It has issues and factory faults (frets, bridge misaligned) but great couch guitar for me! I modded it and made it a push pull for splitting the humbucker.
Let's hope Kramer brings back their aluminum forked headstock like they had in the 70's. Those looked awesome!
I will never forget those guitars. What a unique headstock they were.
I’ve had (delusional) dreams about getting a signature model from Kramer. My dream signature guitar would be a satin olive green semi-hollow with a Kramer aluminum neck. P90s, Semi-hollow, aluminum neck seems like the key to “perfect” tone.
I had the first Kramer Baretta in my country, back in 1984.
I had a red sparkle metallic Kramer Pacer Limited Edition with the 2 Duncan pickups, Floyd 1000 and maple body and it just felt like it was 50 lbs and sounded kinda weak, but then I went and bought a Kramer Baretta "The 84" in Radiant Red with the single JB in the bridge and the alder body and I like that guitar as much as my Charvel San Dimas. Feels and players very similar, and I consider Charvels to feel and sound pretty much perfect. I think it just depends on what ya like. Wouldn't buy another maple body personally. If anyone wants an absolutely awesome guitar that flies under the radar sometimes in price, go grab an EVH 5150. Every bit as good as a Charvel, usually for a little less used.
I have an original ‘86 JK1000 upstairs - It’s a treasure and an amazing instrument; Eddie designed an amazing guitar.
Thanks for reviving my love of 80's man. Your new 80's course is sweet and I can't wait to test it all out on my new Kramer Pacer vintage.
I still have my Kramer, which was my 2nd guitar ever. A 1984 custom paint job, Floyd Rose, and two Seymour Duncan pick ups. At this point I forget which pick ups it put in it, but it is my favorite 23 fret guitar, which is why I still have it.
Nice!!!
I've owned 2 Kramer guitars, a 300ST that my youngest still has and a Nightswan. Yes, the George Lynch Nightswan. Both were amazing guitars!
Not my first guitar but the first guitar I ever bought for myself was a white Kramer Striker V. When I got it home I noticed a crack on the body near the neck. I returned it to the store and exchanged it for a Kramer ST. I think it was a 300ST. Years later I realized that crack in the V was probably just in the paint finish. I could kick myself! A few guitars later (Ibanez), I gave my first guitar (no name) and my Kramer to nephews (about 6 yrs old at the time) thinking they might be interested as they got older. A few years after that (mid-90s) I asked my sister about those guitars. She informed me that my bro-in-law sold them at a yard sale. She never would tell me how much because "it wasn't much." Obviously that still bugs me to this day.
Tiger stripe Kramer Pacer is my number 1 gigging guitar...great neck, similar to my Evh....both are a joy.
I bought access to the 80's Guitar course a week ago or so. Looking forward to diving into it over the holidays. Cheers!
That was one banging intro dude. Love it.
That thing is so 80's I grew a mullet just watching this video.
An army buddy had a kramer acoustic in Key West...back in 1974
I Got your 80s course! I’m waiting for work to slow down after the Holidays to dive into it! Those Kramers sound great! I’ve yet to try one out, but maybe one day! 😎
Nice! I'd love to have it! Thanks for the opportunity! 🎉
My first good guitar was a red krammer focus 2000. It was super nice with a floyd. That was 1986. And i have to say the 80's was the greatest time ever
Wow, that yellow really pops. Sounds great.
Absolutely Killer! Kramer Baretta In Bumblebee Yellow!
Totally A Rock Machine! 😉👍
@RobertBakerGuitar You Make It Sound Sweeeeet! Thank You! 🫵😉👍
Love your channel. Love that yellow Kramer. I had an old 80's Kramer striker that someone tuned higher and higher until the neck cracked several times. They had no idea the nut was locked. I was very sad and didn't have a guitar for quite a while .
Another great lesson, thanks. Love the Kramer. I'm making a FrankenKramer with pariah pickup. EVH forever.
The Kramer Baretta was my pawn shop guitar buy in cities across America in the 90’s when I was on tour
Killer playing man🤘🏻
I have a 1980 kramer striker 100st Neptune NJ USA 🤘
Love the yellow Baretta, and great playing as always😁 🎸
sick shredding Robert!
That yellow is loud and proud!
Cool guitar! Great playing as always! Happy Holidays everyone!
Not all of us forgot. especially those of us over on Johnny Beane's channel.
I was always wondering how the Baretta's compare to Charvel's. So many thanks!
Still have my old Kramer focus 2000 with Seymore Duncans in it. Got it back in 85'. Still has the factory pups in it and rips to this day 🤘
Nice!!!
I haven’t forgotten about them! Sitting next to a few & I love my Kramer’s 🤘🏻🎸🤘🏻
Thanks Rob! Love your content and the courses always rock
I still have my Kramer pacer series from 1984 with the "beak" headstock.
sounds good brother! I bought my beretta at a music store in Valdosta GA in 1990. Its a 87 Klein with the skull airbrushed on it.
Thanks for the opportunity Sweetwater and Robert! Good luck everyone!
I wanted a KRAMER back in the early 90's when I was about 18 but never got one. I did forget about them for a long time, But I got an acoustic KRAMER a couple of years ago from a hock shop. I didn't even think that they made acoustics. I still have it & it gets played a lot out on my balcony on weekends by Me & my Friends & even my Neighbours. I wanted one like this one because I was right into Van Halen at the time. I love this channel. Cheers Robert.
What a great inteo !!
Cheers from NZ 😎🎸🤘
Never forgotten. I still own (and play when the thrash mood takes me) my 1986 Kramer Focus 4000. It hangs proudly on the wall with every other guitar I own. It's still incredible to play.
Just finished paying off a org. 1986 kramer... it quickly become one of my favorite guitars to play now. It's built like a tank and shows some wear & tear from the years buts it's gorgeous needless to say
Lovin' that Yellow! 💗
Some killer licks Robert!!
A really beautiful beast Robert.
I play a Gibson SG special.
Bought in '85 .
Upgraded it with EMG pickups.
And a Khaler whammy bar.
Still my favorite.
But never have played a maple neck guitar.
Kramer guitars are so eighties!
Love them.
Sounds great !
Love the channel, the best lessons on TH-cam .
Love it!! I've got an '88 Stryker and I've loved it since the day I bought it!!!. Good luck to all and thanks Robert!!!. Keep up the great work!!!
I own this same guitar, love it. The maple body makes this heavier and brighter than it’s cousin the Kramer Baretta Special which is a mahogany body.
That's some pretty tasty riffs dude !!
Dayum! I love everything I've been hearing over the last couple of weeks! The guitars have been drool worthy too. 👍 Everything about this sounds fun AF! 🤩You got me dude, I need to buy into this party ASAP. Got the Rock Master rack preamp, Ibanez MIJ RG520QSB & Chlorine Burst San Dimas on standby.
I just got a Kramer 84 couple months back and I love it
‘84 Striker, candy apple red metallic, with Floyd Rose 2 whammy, HH pickups. Still plays great! An unfortunate fall cracked the tip of the head through the #6 tuning peg but still holding up with a botched glue job. 😅
My first bass was an 88 Kramer Focus 8000. A very interesting one to start learning on
Always wantedto try a Krammer, great video!
I own more Kramer's than any other brand.. whether it's my 80's Japanese models to my Gibson/Kramer guitars they are all fantastic.
I love those things man. My first real guitar was a Kramer Pacer original Floyd duncan's. It was mid-80s and man that was the s***. I tried to repaint it many years later and it fell off where I had it hanging to dry and it crack the body. Never sounded the same. I ruined it.. that was heartbroken LOL
Gibson/Kramer what are you talking about Willis?
@@WanWon.7 I think he's talking about on Gibson bought then back in the mainstream
@@WanWon.7 Since 1996, Gibson has owned Kramer.
Had a neighbor in the mid eighties that got a candy apple red one and it blew away my Charvel Model 3 I was using on stage as my main guitar.
WOW!!!!!! My dream guitar and colour!!!!!! Awesome ROB!!!!!!!!
Dude! Is this tune youre playing on Spotify? That was amazing brother!
I have to speak out about this guitar. I have a Kramer Baretta of my own, great guitar and outstanding value for the money. Got it brand new, under 300 Canadian. I have the purple one, but it also comes in Ruby Red and Candy Blue. Same price. Was looking into getting a Bumblebee yellow one, shocked to see it listed at 1100 bucks! Same guitar, just a different color. Kramer can go shove this one you know where, a shameless money grab just for the yellow paint.
It's not just for a different paint color, the Kramer Baretta, as opposed to the Baretta Special, has a Seymour Duncan humbucker and Floyd Rose instead of in house components. Idk how pricing works in Canada but on the website the regular Baretta is listed at $799 US. Considering the Baretta Special is listed at $229 US I feel like that's a decent price for the upgrades and convenience of not having to install them yourself.
Now. They could DEFINITELY do a better job of explaining the difference between them lol.
Not a fanboy comment or anything, just wanted to point out it's not the exact same guitar with a different color. ❤️
Kramer has a large community on the social media. Never was forgotten.
Just thought of the perfect 80s guitar for me: The white-all-over with mirror pickguard superstrat feature in Robert Palmer's "Addicted To Love" video. Had a close brush with it back in the day, but developed a taste for metal-styled guitars and bought a Peavey Tracer with 24 frets, HSS pickups and that thin Vandenberg neck instead.
Robert thank you for your review of this guitar. I’m left handed and there is a left handed version available. I was considering purchasing one.
Very cool. Always wanted a Kramer
Beautiful Guitar!
Not me, I still have my ‘86 Kramer that I bought new in January of 87. I also have a 84 reissue that I had painted up 5150, since EVH doesn’t offer those as a lefty. Love my Kramers
Great video as always. My 1st guitar was a 2nd hand Kramer Striker with a Kahler that was worth more than the guitar. Kramer has favorite necks, they're always so comfortable and easy to play. I still have my 400 and Ferrington and don't intend on giving them up. I wish I still had that Striker, POS that it was.
Awesome! I love Barettas!
I have '86 Baretta, one of the last ones made in USA before Kramer became part of ESP. That thing screams 80s hair metal!
Love 80s guitar
I have washburn jb-80 .
Amazing guitar
Oh man! That colour is killer!
Still have my '82 Kramer I bought used in '84
Cool! I've always wanted a Yellow Kramer Baretta. My very first electric guitar was a Kramer Focus F-1000 in Candy Apple Red, I bought back in 1987. Sure miss it.
Nice, i love Yellow guitars!!!
I have a Kramer Focus IIIS next to my recliner that I love. Never goes out of tune. Players great. I’ve never plugged it into an amp…I just play it acoustically.
Love Kramer guitars I had one back in 1984 killer guitars love to have this one
I have a Kramer imperial explorer I got in 2003 it's pretty awesome.
I've got a Baretta Special and it's really great for the price. I did put locking tuners on it, though :)
My Kramer Pacer is my favourite guitar! That Baretta in the bumblebee yellow is pretty much my dream axe, entered of course!
The very first bass I touched was a Kramer Acoustic Bass. My high school band teacher used to let me take his home to practice on until I had my own bass.
Beautiful. Very much like my 1st real guitar, a Fender contemporary - Japanese made, black painted headstock, Burgundy mist pink metallic, killer. One humbucker, one volume. Simple.
I bought The 84 The Illusionist this summer and I love it.
I owned a 90’s striker it was nice. I think it was a Korean made one. It was black though. Not a fan of gloss black guitars so i sold it.
I do dig these, as well as the LTD ‘87 mirage- both great retro shredders…
I got a Baretta special. I mean, $200. Loved it except the vibrato threw it out of time. Despite new locking saddles. Despite new nut.
This one, though, with a floors and locking nut... YES.
Sick playing dude...Siiiiiiick 😂 👏👏👏👏👏🔥👍
