Great , as usual. The subway was so clean ! Not NYC. The restaurant very much like an old Hungarian restaurant , " The Red Tulip" here, alas gone. So nice to see such decor with classic cuisine instead of the plastic restaurants the proliferate everywhere. Hopefully " Elon" stays off the menu. The pine cone cappuccino looked delicious and if you like the resin flavor try the Greek Wine Retsina. Some are terrible but the good ones, are delicate and very unique. Looking forward to more of these tours !

I was there during the peak of summer several years ago, LOVED the city, and thought that I'd probably like it even when it's absolutely freezing there.
Having grown up in the US when Nikita Khrushchev was in power, my first knowledge about SU/Russia was the Cold War, Duck & Cover Drills, Communism, Cuban Missile Crisis; basic bleakness & fear of some big, looming place far away. Of course I knew long ago Russia was not that, but I really enjoy seeing so many gorgeous areas & the real beauty of Russia & the people.
