BEDSTUY (for Bedford-Stuyvesant) is a neighborhood in the northern section of the New York City borough of Brooklyn. Bedford-Stuyvesant is bordered by Flushing Avenue to the north (bordering Williamsburg), Classon Avenue to the west (bordering Clinton Hill), Broadway to the east (bordering Bushwick and East New York), and Atlantic Avenue to the south (bordering Crown Heights and Brownsville).The main shopping street, Fulton Street runs east-west the length of the neighborhood and intersects high-traffic north-south streets including Bedford Avenue, Nostrand Avenue, and Stuyvesant Avenue. Bedford-Stuyvesant contains four smaller neighborhoods: Bedford, Stuyvesant Heights, Ocean Hill, and Weeksville (also part of Crown Heights). Part of Clinton Hill was once considered part of Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Born and raised in Bed-Stuy. Lived on Lexington Ave between Throop and Tompkins Aves. Went to Boys and Girls high school on Fulton St. It's a whole different vibe in "the Stuy" now compared to when I was growing up.
3 generations of my family grew up on these very blocks. Stuyvesant btwn Putnam & Jefferson. I lived Stuyvesant & Hancock. There will never be another Bed Stuy anywhere else in this world ❤️HOME SWEET FOREVER HOME🏘️🏘️🏘️🏘️

Grew up on bedford and lafayette in the 70s and 80s. Definitely not the Brooklyn im used, too.

Thanks so much for showing us around your neighbourhood on a beautiful snowy day, Julien in NYC! Didn't the famous NYC detective, Frank Serpico, live in that area too? Very, very, nice area with beautiful historic homes with those historic stairways leading up to the front doors! And yeah, I was considering getting a brownstone house in the future because the market for them right now is relatively low because of the area. The pricing is going to get higher because that area is getting gentrified as we speak. Thank you very much!
@@PagIiacci I live in BedStuy ... and it's already gentrified (the south of BedStuy at least).

We love the brownstones now, but they were the cookie-cutter subdivisions of their day.
Yep - and all those houses are worth at minimum 1.5 mill nowadays
