I see a lot of comments here about "Why does he still love her " My dad pretty much stole our house by re-mortgaging it and running off at the time it was $100,000 but i still struggle to hate him. My mother passed away a day shy of 1 month ago, and I still have moments where I hold back a couple tears, like when I think of the vacations we went on or look at the last birthday card she ever made for me (family tradition: we MAKE our cards! xD). That feeling... is sometimes so lonely, y'know? Like at night.

First time I have seen this. My Mother passed in 2012. I empathize with the road you both traveled, seems like it was a rough one. I was blessed to have a good relationship with mine, though I could have been a better son. You never get over the loss, regardless of the way you interacted but eventually you do get on with life. I choose not to remember only the good times but as much of my time with her. To try and remember only the good seems to take away from her part of her.
