I usually just zoom in and print an image from google earth. I make sure the scale bar is on the image and I scale it in CAD. It's not 100% accurate but it's really close and good enough for my purposes

The "pan and tilt" feature can be disabled in the Google Earth Options window. I believe that option is located in the "Navigation" tab. This will cause the view in Google Earth to always be orthogonal to the screen and eliminate the need to reset the view multiple times.

Another practical application to using google earth instead of geomaps is the fact that the geomap function using bing often has much farther out of date maps. Really the only reason I'd use it over geomaps.

It's hit or miss really. Sometimes bing has better images than Google and vice versa. Sometimes Bing in CAD has worse version than on Bing.com!

I would so love to do this but I have 2022 version and your's is 2019. I cant type in the coordinates like you can, so its off to watching 36 more hours of youtube until I can get a video that has my version for what I want to do.

You can use the same procedure in your version. You may turn off dynamic input in the status bar, and you can enter the coordinates in the command line.

Pretty cool but why use AutoCAD to insert a map instead of Civil 3D? You can just assign a coordinate system, go to the geolocation ribbon, and turn on the aerial map that’s already available in Civil 3D.
