I learned a thing about insect jelly today. I've never had someone get addicted to it before, i must have been incredibly lucky so far to never have had a colonist turn into a megaspider on me in my almost 1400 hours.
Dang, now i want to do it just for the hell of it. Sounds like i have a plan for a new colony!

That's not vanilla. It's specifically Vanilla Expanded: Insectoids. And the jelly is "Royal Insect Jelly" that can cause addictions and later, transformation.
I think you're mixing up regular insect jelly and royal insect jelly, the regular kind is basically just a superfood with no side effects

this video is the most important part of my day until i finish watching it.
Probably just the burdens of streaming, but you took pains to plan everything out, and then just sketched out everything with build orders, anyway. So instead of finishing, like, a place to store things, a place to sleep, a place to eat - you ended up with days and days of unfinished walls, no roofs, no kitchen, etc. Like, you moved all your food *out* of storage, into open air...and then didnt focus on finishing the fridge, to get it protected again. Wild to watch. But I've never tried this with, like, thousands of eyes on me - probably changes the vibe. Glad to see you doing a long run on rimworld, again.
Jungle has been my favorite Biome so far, the infinite trees is so nice to have as I live and die by storage shelves and so long as you clear burn zones from your base most raids get a fun inferno to try and walk through to get to your base.
Most any raid that isn't mechhive is dealt with by a molotov on a storage shelf at the edge of the jungle.

You should make it where you can only get in to the kitchen through the fridge. That way you don’t get all your colonist walking through making it dirty. And wall lights.
Yeah, I was going to make the same comment. Your dining room doesn't matter much for cleanliness, because meals become a risk for food-poisoning while cooking, not eating. :)
as for dirt, I set home areas that get cleaned then make cleaning Priority 1 for everyone in the colony. They go on a cleaning binge for a bit but once done it's just maintenance cleaning.

You should try the vault start next. It’s a really interesting challenge to have the prebuilt structure of the vault, but also have it limit you since the walls can’t be deconstructed

A bit late to the party, but to answer the airline question, the reason is that you pass out before you die, so if your put on your own oxygen mask and your kids pass out before you get to them then you can still mask them up and they'll be fine--whereas if you put the mask on your kid and then you pass out, your kid will just rip off their own mask and poop in your mouth while you die, because children on planes are (by-and-large) screaming nightmares incapable of decency even when there isn't an emergency.
And all that jazz, ive watched many a video and heard that from ya. I say that as well. Love your stuff man. Love me some rimworld. Love ya love your show.
to save power with your fridge's coolers, make an entrance with a temperature trap. make two doors separated by a hallway at least 5 tiles long and the fridge will never go above -10
-10 is completely over doing it you burn more power the lower you set it with 5 being unnecessary long. Maintaining -3 at most with the airlock to another room keeps it at that temperature. Being efficience with your temperature doesn't reduce power consumption only makes it take longer to heat up again when power outage happens or heat wave

22:00 _Save Our Ship_ needs to be it's own expansion because it's a natural continuation of the vanilla end game. It beautifully leads into what is naturally a newgame+ where you take your survivors whever you please.

I had a colonist go into a tantrum and immediately walk up to a megasloth and punch it. she then got both legs ripped off.
Try installing the stonecutter bench next to a pile of stones then just reinstalling it elsewhere as chunks are used up. I have mine setup to find stones in 10 tiles and it remembers the order when I move it.
If you move the stone cutting bench to the stone, you still have to move the blocks back to your base. There isn't a way to make pawns only haul full stacks so they'll continuously run back and forth with stacks of a few stone blocks. You could leave the blocks out across the map but it will slow down construction which can be crucial during a raid.
Unless the stone chunks are already near the construction then you're better off just letting pawns haul chunks back when they have nothing else to do
@@user-jm8sy5ox2j Set the work order to drop when done and someone else that isn't the cutter will haul the bricks.
@@imlegos2153 That’s still more trips and less efficient. Great way to have your stonecutter and hauler stuck far outside the walls during a raid.

I'm confused as to why you were building power lines next to the walls instead of within them. You can still build power lines within the walls even if the walls are already down. Unless I missed something?
Not sure about his reasons, but i started building my power lines outside of walls after I learned (the hard way) that if a wall is destroyed, any power lines inside it are destroyed too. Running lines outside of walls is ugly, but I haven’t had raiders go after them like they go after walls and outdoor dining areas. Now if raiders break through a wall, they don’t also knock out chunks of my electrical grid at the same time.
Well I'm a year late to tell you this but 1:21:00 You couldn't build conduit there because it was already being built there. You can't see the tiles in progress under the wall but you could see them on the paved path!

Space is the victory condition but not the main goal, or it shouldn't be for a relaxed run. Take this with a grain of salt, I can't get Rimworld yet qwq

Question for everyone does having something that emits heat next to a wall effect the heat on the room next to it?
I think it will only heat the other room if there airway to it, like a open door. And it depends on the reach of the heat source
