You look and dress like a young and beautiful 1st-grade teacher who is adored by all her students, and who works in a nice quiet seaside town where a young and maybe troubled man comes to seeking rest and greater meaning to life, and then he finds you and falls in love. IN THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY
wow i needed this. i just finished my photography gcse (exam that basically plans my future) and the results were meant to be up at 10 (english time). ya girl is panicking and my heart got relaxed when i saw this notification so thank you, i love you
Yo the same ppl who own L Train vintage own LePoint Value Thrift in Crown Heights and they consistently have sales, I end up paying no more than $2.50 for dresses/pants and $3 for shirts. They have really great vintage selection there and a resident cat! Can be a trek but highly recommend!!
Your videos always make me so happy when I’m feeling really depressed and feel like there is no color in the world.. but you somehow manage to help me see the colors again through your videos :’) thank you !
I love watching your videos, as weird as it is I feel as if we're having a coffee talk at brunch sharing our fave thrift stores and finds here in the comment section. I'm glad I'm a part of your subscriber community (: The thrift stores in your area are really different than here in San Diego, it's rare to find consignment stores, well curated thrifts or deals at any thrift stores. Now that school is over I shall venture out and see what else SD has to offer (: Hoping to score a fruit salad cardigan too!
My biggest regret when I visited nyc a few summers ago was not researching any thrift stores because it was a family trip and didn’t want to drag anyone out of the way and I stupidly thought we would stumble across one randomly??? Dumb me. So when I return at some point I can’t wait to refer back to this video!
Micaela C i relate to that sooo much!! we took a little mini day trip to philly last year and i thought the same 💔 completely missed out on the opportunity! but i’m glad this lil’ list can help you for the next time!! xx
that friends tee, AAH! such a good find! and that fruity dress, SO CUTE I CANT. i'm going vintage/second hand shopping tomorrow and i wish i wasn't as awkward as i was and be able to film my face for more than 20 seconds without getting awkward so i could do an haul )if i find anything good!
Omg what you said about the Beacons Closet in Chelsea is so spot on!! They make you give them even a little wristlet or shoulder bag as if anyone can fit anything in there
The Totoro shirt is to die for! So jealous of that haha! ❤️ You inspire me to shop sustainably, thank you for that. Your videos will always put me in the best mood, your humble vibe and positive energy is very affectionate. Love youuu Diana
Okay, just found your channel today so I’m watching quite a few lol but I’m coming to nyc at the end of June and must make some thrift videos there, will 100% be hitting these spots, thanks bb you rock ❤️
I love watching your videos so much girl!! Would absolutely love a dobbin st vlog/ furniture blog!! I absolutely loveee thrifting for furniture and am always looking for more inspo especially because I’m in the process of redoing my room right now! I actually thrifted a couple of baskets and throw pillows last Sunday at my local flea market and I’m so excited to go again this weekend! Thank you for creating content you’re always an inspiration!!
i live in chicago and they just opened their second location in my city-- and it is a walking distance away from my house! it made me so happy because i can cart my clothes over there and get store credit so i can always save on clothes by paying for them wiht my own old clothes, and the stuff i get from there is the CUTEST! i have gotten 3 dresses there that are now staple dresses in my closet, so colorful and cute
I love your vintage style I use to have a lot of thrifted vintage pieces but as of now I don't really have a lot in my closet besides purses and accessories. I definitely want to thrift more vintage . That open knit cardigan is so cool. Vintage pieces are so unquie and well crafted like the knitted fruit cardi.
The greenpoint Beacon’s was my first one when I started thrifting for my closet. I’ve found some amazing things there and my favorite thrifted pieces are from there. I don’t go there as much anymore since I rarely make it out to Brooklyn nowadays. One of my favorites is Monk Vintage (i can’t remember the exact street but I do remember it’s either on or near driggs). Monk has that really grimy thrift shop feel, but they give you a discount coupon if you donate clothing (I like to drop stuff off before I start shopping, that way I shave some cash off of my total!) or at least they did the last time I was there. I used to hit Buffalo Exchange (the one in the greenpoint/williamsburg area) years ago and my favorite pair of jeans (that I still wear - my #1 pair) came from there.
i loved your video, by the way those poodle earrings were very popular in the 90's! you took me back to my high school days, i used to have a pair with monkeys and a pair of cows. I wish i had kept them.
You always find such nice pieces of clothing! Also, I know some of the stores you mentioned are a bit on pricey side, but I always feel jealous of the prices of the thrift stores in the US! In Europe (with the exception of a few countries) most of the thrift and vintage stores are so overpriced ever since 2nd hand shopping became kind of a trend a few years ago. When I started thrifting it wasn't like this, but currently it's very hard to find something decent and affordable.
Amazing video!! You are inspiring me to go out and look for special unique pieces!! I’m going to go look for some tomorrow! That’s the beauty of thrifting. You never know what you will find! Today I found an adorable leather purse with an old map of the world on it for only $5.00! It’s totally a staple piece!
This is a wonderful sharing of thrifting ideas and places! Thank you! Your generosity is appreciated as I am heading to NYC this summer. You and Roger are so lovely together❤️ I like your friendship and your obvious love for each other!
Oh my goodness the editing in this video is total goals just so well done! I recently did a video with a brand blooming jelly and I was so inspired by you when I filmed it but I’m still learning to edit so nowhere near as well executed. Plus that fruit cardigan 😍😍😍
Nooo your video came too late for me 😭 I went to NY for the first time last month (my first time in the US actually haha) and was so disappointed with the thrift scene there! Everywhere I went was so overpriced/totally picked apart 😫 Any pieces I found were amazing but so expensive 😥Wish I had seen your amazing suggestions before I went!
Mairead Horgan aw I’m so sorry to hear that! definitely when I first began thrifting in New York, with the exception of buffalo exchange, everywhere I went was expensive! I think I spent $35 on my first pair of mom jeans and literally within the same week, I discovered L train and got a similar (but better pair) for $12!
loving your new space and the outside try-on shots - so pretty! i'm def gonna check out your recs :) have you ever been to auh20 in the east vill?? it's my current fave!
Nina Campbell oh i have! i used to enjoy going there but when i used to go, they never really had a wide range of sizes. the shop owner’s a sweetheart though 💕
love your content. BTW not sure if you are confusing the prices of clothes at Feng Sway with Dobbins St. The dresses are all $42 for beautifully curated floral maxi's dating 70's - 90's eras, and the tops range from $15 - $45 which is pretty reasonable for vintage and designer labels. I saw an Ungaro dress there for $42 last week! Feng Sway is SO expensive - it hurts.
danielle T idk every time I go I see tees, dresses, and jackets there for $100+! I kinda stopped looking after a while because I enjoy their selection of furniture a bit more personally. Will try to give it another look next time :)
Hahaha I totally relate when you spent $58 on a second hand dress. I spent $105 on a 1950s dress....BUT it fits me like a glove it looks like it was made for my body and in perfect condition. I do love it but it was a splurge since I won’t wear it weekly. keeping this video in my favourites so I can hit up all these places on my next trip to New York !
honestly if it weren't for TH-camrs, I don't know that I ever would've started thrfiting and become the woman I am today. I know that sounds so dramatic but thrifting is actually my life lol
Wear is She Now hahaha same!! so happy i came across thrift videos years ago :’) it’s really helped shaped what my style and appreciation for sustainable fashion is today❣️
Your finds look soooo nice on you!!! Just a heads up , I was shocked to here they stocked from Japanese vintage shops cause Japanese vintage shops stock from the states. I live in Tokyo and that’s what they always tell me😱 but of course it depends on the places they go to of course
My sister lives in NYC and she loves to go to a place called Furnish Green (they have a website as well) to pick up some vintage home decor. She's gotten some art pieces and a dresser from them I know and says they have great customer service and you can find some awesome pieces for reasonable prices. Better to shop in store for the best deals she's said.
I hate to be that person but I think the avocado is a kiwi...
BUT AWESOME VIDEO
Angela Lee get in line, there are like five other people that have already broken my soul 💀 the good news is, I love kiwi as much as I love avocados
btw, your dark hair looks STUNNING. I love the boho and free-spirited pink... but the dark hair is so iconic you look like a movie star!
Annika Rose aw thanks annika!! def need to re-touch it soon.. it’s wearing off already 💔
