People moan about plastic yet they use it everyday. This is a polymer, self lubricating designed for less wear. There is one saying in life "you can't please everyone" Its very true... and if you try to it's self destructive to yourself to try to please others. You cannot win.

By chance will this support having an ETA7750 dropped in?

No, the 7750 is to thick! The 7750 is one of the greatest calibres of all time & I love it.
The Tissot powermatic 80 has more power reserve and it’s excellent.

Plastic parts are very disgusting for me 😔

Well this movement is basically a lemania 5100 albeit a lightly modified version. This movement is legendary in that it was made to be reliable, robust & shock proof while being cheap to produce. This movement has been used in several watches from Omega's to the more humble swatch watches.

@@vla8398 Can't not accept PLASTIC Escape wheel & Pallet fork for mechanical watch what so ever. They're disposable parts. If anyone wants reliable, robust & shock proof while being cheap to produce, better go to Quartz.

      Yes, indeed.

Is that the plastic part at 0:46?

Those are special polymers with special physical properties, is not the regular plastic you know.

  • @SevenDeMagnus

Yup, I wish Tissot did not use plastic for their amazing PRX coz' that defeats the purpose of buying a mechanical watch.
    God bless.

You guys act like metal parts never wear or break. Better yet we have more evidence of all metal watches failing than these newer movements with polymer.

@@yayayaokoksure I think it's the thought of having plastic in your timepiece, as opposed to any theoretical advantage or disadvatage of them. You don't buy a watch with an automatic movement for its accuracy, you get one as a link to the past but with modern updates (improved power reserve, accuracy, antimagnetic/shock protection, possibly added complications)-all sorts of alloys are used in new automatic watches and these are acceptable in my opinion, without the need to resorting to plastics/polymers. I think of it as having a little clockwork metal heart beating away, powering the hands whirring around the face of the mini clock sitting on my wrist🙂

For me its ok. As long i see the logo, its still reminds me what is the reason why i bought that watch before that is my link to the past. And its only 2 parts. When it wears then its time to replace same goes with metal.
