You should see what can be done with modern equipment. Maintenance shops and offices, warehouse's. And the drifts are large enough to accommodate 40 ton haul trucks. It's truly amazing. I've seen a whole room of crystal called the crystal palace with huge ceilings. Backfill concrete plants, break rooms. Whatever you can think of.
Great detailed video of a fantastic mine! Your periphery lighting is awesome, but you need a beam for the man ways, ore passes and long tunnel sections! We can't see anything farther than 30 ft away :(
Love your youtubes - particularly the maps at the beginning - so cool to follow along. FYI - I'm very old and used to smoke... the red pack of cigarettes' was pronounced "Paul" "Mall" rather than "Pale" "Male" :) Boy it makes me feel old to know this!!
That's right and both were none filtered. The Pall Mall none filtered was my favorite, that and the Camels, we use to get a four pack with our c-rations in Nam. I'd trade any Menthol cigarette's I'd get for Pall Malls, Camels or Lucky Strikes.
It makes sense the deeper levels would be in better condition since presumably they were mined more recently, also the more productive levels probably had more invested into them in general (in terms of equipment, roof support, maintenance, etc etc).
I could tell you were not of the cigarette era, thankfully, the red Pall Mall pkg is pronounced "Paul" mall. I never smoked but we were always bombarded with their ads...great video again , nice slip and slide tunnels...😎👍
Pall Mall pronounced Paul Maul. Along with Lucky Strike, still in business today. Wow, so many timbered man ways! A lot of wood and timber in this one. Fun explore, thanks!
Hi, the pack of cigarettes at 14:36 are called Pall Mall. I wonder if that little tool box at 24:15 was actually the tool skip for that track in the manway at 24:35 ??????. So much collapse in this mine over the years, I'm betting earthquakes haven't helped much either, there were some very sketchy area's in this part of the mine. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx 💞
Good ol' Pall Malls.....when you didn't wanna wuss out with filtered, (Marboros come to mind) but the Lucky Strikes were just too much for your tortured lungs! Is it just the camera, or all those timbered manways quite small?
My grandma used to smoke Pall Mall non filter ciggs. Man I hated them things. They smelt like horse scat. Love the video quality and stills. I think you might want to invest in a stablizer, i was getting nauseated watching this. Great Job Graham.
Maybe its just me but, I wish youd sell some of your stills. Out of the mine explorers you have the best lighting. I think it's reminescent of the Coleman lantern I used when I did some exploring.
It’s been an ongoing project for me to open an online print shop. I would like to have it done this year, but it’s hard to find the motivation to sit at the computer and finish it...I appreciate the kind words though!!
I'm not sure I have ever seen so much scrap lumber laying about and stacked in a mine. I suppose it has something to do with all of the ore chutes they built.
I Does anyone know how the the vertical shafts were made. like do they start from the top down or bottom up any in-site would be helpful not writing a book just curious
Lucky Strike was once made by American Tobacco here in Durham N. C. where I live. American Tobacco was owned by J.B. Duke. You might have heard of that small university named after their family. If you Google Earth American Tobacco Campus just to the left and north of our Durham Bulls Athletic Park you will see a water tower with Lucky Strike written on it. Part of our tobacco history. Lucky Strikes had a tv commercial and these letters are on the package-L.S.M.F.T. Lucky Strike Means Fine Tobacco. History lesson completed. Class dismissed.

I Really like how you interpose the still photos with the video. Great job!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
Such a photogenic mine. Great video as always.
Watched this one this morning, great mine, lovely levels and lots or ore chutes. Most impressive is the condition of the timbers and the finds.
So awesome 👍! It's amazing the extent of the mines that people have dug,

Yep, they were pretty tight manways!

What do you use for the lighting when you take the photos of the tunnels? They look fantastic
Thanks! I use a Neewer 160 LED panel light.
Great still pictures!
Spend a little more time focusing on the ore veins. I like to see what they were after.
First
Looks to have a lot of passages by the dawning
