As a strong minded, loud mouth woman (when I'm irritated), I have been in a physically abusive marriage. Your strength means nothing when you're being mentally & physically controlled by a man you love. I never initiated a first punch, hit, slap, or push, but I certainly did have the crap beaten out of me for years & stayed, just for simply voicing my thoughts & opinions. Thankfully, I finally got the courage to leave. People whom have never been involved in an abusive relationship just don't get it.
