Love your narration and explanation near the end. I love most colors of brick, but was surprised how much I like the limewash you've done so far. I look forward to seeing the final results.
Loving the lime wash!! Of course, red brick 🧱 looks super traditional and I prefer modern aesthetics!! You never realize why paying for these jobs are so expensive until you start the work yourself, so now that I know how much work goes into these jobs, their pricing is fair! 😅 But something is so satisfying about DIYing! Great work! 🤩🤩
The lime wash is amazing! It looks like a million bucks! Ive been looking into this myself for all kinds of stuff, especially my coops. It's so beneficial in so many ways!
It looked darker in the short but it looks pinkish in this video. Probably pick team white wash. I'm really team paint though lol, unless it's a nice dark red brick.
@@TheNavagePatchGo team lime wash! Great choice! Not a brick fan either unless it's one distressed wall. Too much is too much. Love the clean, crispness of the white.
I’ve been wanting to lime wash our house since we bought it two yrs ago but my husband is not on board. 😂 I’d want a more transparent lime wash for ours but your house looks great!
You always provide thorough instructions - providing people read and / or listen. I like brick too, but in certain applications. And like lyme wash for the exact reason you stated, it lets the bricks breathe unlike a conventional ",paint." Years down the line this will pay off in the long run as constant exposure will result in brick repairs and many times the original product is no longer available. With lyme washing it will not be a big deal. Repair then lyme wash and it will be just dandy.
Brick is pretty much maintenance free. I am sure you would have to touch up limewash every so often. I love the look of traditional brick and the painted ones are pretty too.
I think you might be able to tint the wash with some powdered pigments, and I don't think it would harm the effects of the lime. My dad used to spray cow barns with lime to keep the flies down. It was his business when I was a kid. You could have any shade of white you wanted, lol! Your house looks great! The people who had our house before the ones who sold it to us, hated the orange brick too, but they had it re-bricked with white, so we're good that way.
loving the lime wash. going to check how this would hold up in cold northern ontario weather 🥶 can this stuff be tinted? any way i love your content. excited for the reveal! 🥰✌🏼❤️❣️🇨🇦
I love the look of lime wash or German schemer. I really wondered about it. A person in my neighborhood just did there's. Love it!! I am dying to see your house all finished.
I'd leave a part as is (maybe the front entrance) and paint the rest.I think it'd give it even more character. But that's me (and I love red brick) . It feels cozy, especially in the winter
I just saw your video short, I can't wait to see it lime washed! It was wicked funny how you described the pressure washer extension. For real though, I have to hold my pressure washer 3 inches tops! from the concrete to get the mold off, not for the weak! Beautiful home! I also am painting a house right now. What did you do when you had to paint where the power comes into the house near the meter????
I’ve wanted to do this to our house but I’m scared! There’s no going back once you do it. And my house has “raked” brick which I’m not sure would work because I love the distressed look (is that down with a sand blaster?) anyway great job and it’s always fun to play around!
Can you tell me what color you chose. I love it 🥰 it looks wonderful. I’m going to do just some columns of brick on my home. Yours was major labor intensive! It was all worth it looks amazing❤
The ph of 12 is very anti mold growth! Mold remediation companies spray a 12 ph treatment on moldy wood and it restores it to brand new! The very first time we used it we were amazed! Full PPEs must be utilized and must not breath the fumes whenever using and pouring the product into a sprayer.
It looks fabulous. I desperately want to limewash our very yucky light-'meh'-brown bricks but hubby isn't on board yet. I'm hoping your video is going to change his mind! In future years, will you be able to pressure clean the bricks or do you have to apply a fresh coat of the limewash?
I managed to find part two, but now can't find part 3. I did a search on youtube and go a whole other video that wasn't you. Searching for anything specific you want on youtube is usually useless. But now I'm on your website and still can't find it.
Is this a process you will have to do again at some point? How long will the lime wash last??? I love love love the lime wash! I've been looking at new homes and so many are red brick and I'm just not a fan. Now I feel like ever red brick house is an option!
I was wondering that too ..to spray it ..but then I thought it must be to thick for spraying.. My arms hurt just by watching you.I remember when we put up our house for sale I painted room by room with a handroller.I had day's I couldn't hold the roller lol..no strength and I was so much in pain.. I can't wait to see the whole result.
New subie here so glad I found you. I love the lime was look so much. My neighbor did his brick house many years ago and it still looks fabulous. Question, do you have an HOA? I wondered if you had to get approval from them before beginning this process. I know some subdivisions will not allow a change like this. I can't wait for the reveal.
I wonder what it would have looked like to have the brick surrounding the 🪟 windows stay in its original color. How much is curious. Maybe it would be too busy
Just wait for the reveal before final judgement. If you don’t like it then - no worries! I live here and you live there! But maybe…just maybe…you might like it! 🙌😊
YES to the lime wash! The traditional look can be beautiful in t=situations where it's a really old home, or in a New England, English or European setting. Soometimes also in an industrial town too, but in a suburban neighborhood, not as interesting. However the limewash is a big yes!
,My house is brick but some of my brick is from 1943 & the addition is 1977. Me & my sister do not like the brick. I like what you said about limewash let's it breathe. This will be a big decision to do or not to do, hmmmm. Looks great
Team lime-wash from the moment you said it. I *detest* red brick. As a child my parents paid a carpenter to build & install a custom bookcase & desk. I loved it till it was stained that bright red brick color. As a child I expected a natural wood tone like walnut. The bright redwood color was like waving a red flag in front of a bull. I quietly thanked them & seethed silently. 50 years later it's the same horrid color, abrasive.
Love your narration and explanation near the end. I love most colors of brick, but was surprised how much I like the limewash you've done so far. I look forward to seeing the final results.
Thank you! The end result is hopefully going to blow you away!🙌
I think brick vs wash depends on the house and location. I'm definitely onboard with what you are doing! I love the look.
Thank you so much!

I still think painters charge too much, but if you’re not able, I guess it’s worth it to pay someone else!🙌
@@TheNavagePatch especially if you want to keep your rotator cuff intact from all that heavy paint brush stroking. 🙂
I would NEVER paint real wood or brick.. But you know what? You love it, you are happy and it is your house and that is all that matters.
The brick was nice as it was but great job with the lime wash. I learned a lot.
Yeah I'm with you guys! Lime wash for the win! So beautiful!
New to your channel. Looking forward to seeing the final results.
Welcome aboard!
The lime wash is amazing! It looks like a million bucks! Ive been looking into this myself for all kinds of stuff, especially my coops. It's so beneficial in so many ways!
Love the shorts. Great highlighting!
You are just full of creativity
The Lime wash is beautiful!
I didn't think I would like the lime wash but I love it. I do like traditional red brick but was pleasantly surprised with the wash.❤
The brick on your house was a nice color. I would only choose to whitewash the house if the brick was hideous.
Hideous is in the eye of the beholder.
I agree it wasn’t the worst, but I don’t like any red brick and would rather have any other color.
White is so boring. I liked the red brick but you do you. Thanks for the video. 👍👍
I’ve been wanting to lime wash our house since we bought it two yrs ago but my husband is not on board. 😂 I’d want a more transparent lime wash for ours but your house looks great!
Any way you do it is an improvement over red brick! 👊
@@TheNavagePatch see…my brick is almost pink! 😆 So I agree! It’s not my favorite but has so much potential.
Any updates?
Like a previous commentor, your brick was beautiful as it was. If you plan on staying here, more power to you.
I love brick but I think the lime wash is amazing too! But I’m team lime wash cuz it makes you both happy campers!
Absolutely team limewash and even more black pops of trim! It looks so chic! I'm also a witch btw! Hehehe
Looks sharp...kudos! Curious about info and product sources. I have some lime-washing to do in my future!

Totally agree with you!
When tired of the red brick doing the wash is great....I really like the look!
Awaiting the great reveal! I've been wanting to lime wash, too.
Coming soon!
Brick is pretty much maintenance free. I am sure you would have to touch up limewash every so often. I love the look of traditional brick and the painted ones are pretty too.
I’m okay with the very occasional maintenance to get rid of the red! But really this limewash doesn’t require a lot of maintenance. 👊
brick needs cleaning too
Love the limewash on this house. I love the red brick on MANY houses, but on yours the limewash is definitely better.
Thank you, I agree!

It’ll hold up pretty good up there I think. Not as good as hot weather, but it should work.
The limewashed home looks FANTABULOUS!
Love brick and limewash. Team limewash!!
I love red bricks, but the limewash look is awesome too.
It looks awesome 🙌🏼
Thank you, we think so too!
I love the look of lime wash or German schemer. I really wondered about it. A person in my neighborhood just did there's. Love it!! I am dying to see your house all finished.

Do you hv a video of finished priduct? Also do you hv a listing somewhere of products used to mk the limewash yourself? I luv it.
Actually i think i misunderstood. What brand and color did you use of the limewash?
Limewash 💯💯💯 it looks better now 🤍🤍🤍
Thank you!
We love our red brick house. Zero maintenance besides a power wash now and then. However your house looks fantastic in white! To each his own.
WHITEWASHING IN LIMESTONE IS A MUST! (Obviously they have never been to Mykonos....(
It is beautiful.
My issue is that the brick seems out out of place in any area with palm trees. So white seems more appropriate.
It looks fabulous. I desperately want to limewash our very yucky light-'meh'-brown bricks but hubby isn't on board yet. I'm hoping your video is going to change his mind! In future years, will you be able to pressure clean the bricks or do you have to apply a fresh coat of the limewash?
Natural brick for me. I love the darker brick too.❤
Sir…you are brilliant!
I live in Europe and I am definitely a fan of whitewash!😊

I would’ve kept the brick no question. But to each their own.
Is this a process you will have to do again at some point? How long will the lime wash last???
I love love love the lime wash!
I've been looking at new homes and so many are red brick and I'm just not a fan.
Now I feel like ever red brick house is an option!
Limewash should last 10+ years easily.
And, it won't bubble, flake or peel off. Limewash is more like a dye on the porous brick.
I want to Limewash my mother's very dark red brick house here in the very hot DFW area of Texas.
I would have kept a wall or two with plain brick for accent. Hopefully it will help to keep the house cooler in summer.
I prefer the white over the color of the brick.
Is the "wash" available in other colors?
Thank you!
It is, but the choices from the manufacturer are limited. You can also get it tinted at a paint store.
Would like to know what brand and color you used? Love it
You should grow some leafy vines on the front of the house with the three windows to contrast the white!
Where's the end result?! It's been 6 days already and inquiring minds want to see! 😀
Jeezum crow, I’m battling thunderstorms and bone-warping heat here! Gimme a break! (And some more time) 😂
The brick was beautiful ❤
Very entertaining fellow. I like the wash
What was the brand lime wag used and did the rain effect it before it dried? Like did it wash any off ? I know u applied several coats.
You’re so handsome and very creative 🎉
In a mostly sunny dry climate, limewash is the wtg, while brick for cooler climates.
It can be sprayed, but I prefer a good masonry brush!
did you think about using bonding agent instead of power wash?
I was team brick but now....lime wash.
Limewash!!
wow just wow much nicer

Agree, too much red brick. The lime wash was a solid style choice. More elevated and sophisticated appearance.
Team limewash definitely.
All about taste!!!
So sweet ❤
I learned something new.
I wonder what it would have looked like to have the brick surrounding the 🪟 windows stay in its original color. How much is curious. Maybe it would be too busy

I love both. 😂

better than paint! In Europe white was and lime rendering has been used for a few thousand years

Definitely lime wash.

🙌🙌
I think the house looks more expensive with the limewash... traditional at it's best.👍
If I close my eyes I can hear Dwight Shrute talking.
more of a white paint job than a wash. seen it done where the brick still breaks through creating a rich antiqued rustic patina?
Lime wash all the way❤
I’m with you red brick is not my favorite. Love the lime washed bricks.
Team Lime Wash - 100%
